I think Jun was the first person to actually hate him. No that’s not true. Asa disliked Drew since prior to Sasuke 30 because of the ASEAN Open Cup results prior to that tournament. I’m not sure if there was another reason besides Drew beating his time. Jun only came back from his hiatus from Sasuke 32 onwards. Where did you hear that Jun disliked Drew anyway? I know he was a bit of a prick around 32-33 time, like being cold towards others and inappropriately showboating etc. but I didn’t know he actively disliked anyone. I find it hilarious how much he’s mellowed out now lol. There was a story behind when he did those gestures after clearing and it was apparently because he was pissed off by foreign competitors or something

There was a story behind when he did those gestures after clearing and it was apparently because he was pissed off by foreign competitors or something I just figured that was because he'd spent 6 years in the UK hanging out with parkour guys, who I'm sure were all far less subtle than the average Japanese competitor (I mean remember Levi?) which would've rubbed off on him. I'm not sure how that would be related to him hating foreigners especially if said behaviour was the culmination of him hanging out with foreigners for several years. I have sparingly heard before that he wasn't a fan of Drew, though I doubt that had anything to do with his behaviour. He would've met Drew the best part of two times (Sasuke 32 and 33) and hadn't actively competed against him like Asa did. You could also see them having a friendly conversation in the background before Yusuke's run in Sasuke 33 which was somewhat at odds with what I heard about Jun 'keeping to himself'. The only possible explanation would be that Jun may have seen him as a rival as both have parkour backgrounds and are fairly Westernised. Drew was also known to have a bit of an arrogant and abrasive personality as well, at least on Sasuke, so there may be that too.

Wait, when was Jun Sato NOT a nice guy, i always thought of him as the friendly parkour guy who gets unlucky on the cliffhanger EDIT:I have become Hibari Allegedly he wasn't particularly friendly towards other competitors in his first couple of tournaments after his comeback, going by a sort of "you keep out of my way and I'll keep out of yours" approach. I also imagine some people wouldn't have liked his on-set behaviour, like his Sasuke 33 run where he made some inappropriate gestures after clearing etc. Sort of things that are barely acceptable in Westernised parkour culture but definitely not in that of Japan which is a lot more respectful and humble. It was definitely also a maturity thing, as from Sasuke 35 onwards he started to mellow out a lot more, become more social in the community, and be less of a dick generally.
