The SASUKE Nerds just released their SASUKE 40 reaction video, in the past they rage replied to me because i was tired of everyone acting like Dr*w Dr*schel was this unstoppable god, they then shut down the channel years later only for them to return for SASUKE 40, most of their videos were harmless (except for Caynes awful SASUKE 40 review and them making fun of Soichiro Kawachi), but this "reaction" was just toxic, mean spirited, full of earr*pe screaming and had them chanting at Higashimura to fail, calling inui a disgrace for cutting their precious SASUKE poster boy Yusuke Goto, laughing and singing like drunk football fans when matsuda retired and laughed at yamada for failing and when i said this, they told me to cope and seethe like gradeschoolers

I haven't seen their Sasuke 40 reactions (will watch it tomorrow maybe) but it's been pretty much the same every year. I presume that they think it adds comedic value to the video, which in some cases it does, but I do agree some of their reactions were flat out disrespectful. The SMF chat was a lot nicer by comparison, actually motivating a lot of the competitors to do well, even those who were blatantly not going to clear.
Maybe I'm biased because I train for Ninja Warrior so I'm far more sympathetic to serious competitors as I understand how hard they've worked and what it means to them, but yeah.
EDIT: I just watched their reaction to Matsuda's run. Even as someone who has never been the biggest Matsuda fan (I think he's overhyped and unnecessarily spotlighted) the reaction to his retirement was just downright cruel.

Found the fun police. We were all sitting around watching our favourite show, most of us being sleep deprived due to differing time zones lol (I, for example, pulled an all nighter and was running on a caffeine rush). I don't even think half of the stuff we said was that bad, but either way if you think we're gonna sit in silence for 5 hours and upload that you are dead wrong lol
We laughed at Matsuda because it was funny, the whole joke surrounding him is "oh he's a simp for the idol girls". We were actually mostly silent when he failed out of shock. We laughed at Yamada because it was funny, his whole thing nowadays is he's the one that fails early, he's treated as somewhat of a joke competitor nowadays (not just by us, but by literally everyone in the Sasuke community, Japanese and English). I don't remember us chanting for Higashimura to fail, in fact we wanted her to clear the Dragon Glider. And we never called Inui a disgrace for cutting Goto? Like in the times I've lurked it seems calling Inui a disgrace is this forum's favourite pasttime. We actually gave Inui WAY more credit than we should've in the call, mostly due to recency bias but due to how insane everything was. Entertainment is key, and holy sh*t was this tournament entertaining.

Secondly, I'm not hating on them, I'm merely expressing my opinion which I'm allowed to do within reason. If my comment gives them more attention, by all means good for them, I watch a lot of their videos and they've provided a lot of entertainment for me in the past, but that doesn't mean I'm automatically not allowed to disagree with some of the things they said. I don't take it seriously, I just think some of the comments were a bit poor taste, especially given that I know how hard these guys train and dedicate themselves to the show. If anything you should be having a go at the original poster, who seems to have taken the whole thing way more aggressively seriously and seemingly lied about them supposedly saying a few things that they didn't now having watched the video. |

Do not think that making this post is going to get you sympothy like because someone eventually is going to tell the truth and they for sure aren't the same SASUKE NERDS from 3 years back and the people pretty much are different on top of this wtf you think a reaction is going to be a crowd clapping saying good nah people are there to talk and have fun lol so don't go on a tangent and think oh wahhh they are toxic mean spirited and looking at what you said stay mad homes and compadres con mis amigos goodbye and goodnight hope you have a nice day and actually come up with facts before you make misinformed statements about things that didn't even happen. |

I'll cover this as best as I can.
1. I agree the Matsuda thing was kinda harsh, but at the same time I don't actually think it was malciious. Nobody wants to sit in a voice call and just be really sad and making jokes out of the situation helps relieve some of the sadness. I do understand how it can come off as kinda mean given the circumstances though.
2. The screaming WAS painful on ears,, but like we're fans, watching the results to one of the most insane tournaments of all time. Of course you're gonna get loud if you have passion for something.
3. They weren't wanting Mei to time out on the Tackle because they hate her, they wanted her to do so because she'd be one of the few women to beat the Dragon Glider and because she'd be the second person to ever time out on the Tackle.
4. I don't remember the exact wording they used when they cut Goto, but the anger was at least somewhat understandable given the guy reached Stage 2 last year and they could've at least digested him
I'm not saying that you're lying, you may have just misremembered, but still I don't think you should be so worked up over this. If you think this is me bending over backwards for TSN, it's not, I barely watch them at all. I'm a Billyvids_ guy lol.

I think we should just nip this in the bud and say that everyone’s entitled to their own opinions but shouldn’t impose theirs on others.
I think where I completely lost any sympathy for the original poster is when they straight up admitted to telling people not to support them for a few comments which, while disagreeable (imo at least), were certainly nowhere near the magnitude of the extreme response. Trying to spread hate for a certain person, group, or faction, is the literal definition of ‘hate speech’, which isn’t tolerated in society generally, let alone on a mostly friendly discussion forum.
I still stand by what I said, I wasn’t a fan of a few of the reactions, but OP you cannot use this forum to vent in the way you are currently doing, ironically this is actually a very toxic mindset, and will result in a ban if it continues.
