The Curtain Swing was one of the dumbest obstacles in the history of Sasuke. And how can you be for the Skywalk when noone has actually attempted it.

Yes it seems likely that they may replace the swing ladder with some balance type obstacle such as the Cannonball Run. In the past they have had more balance obstacles in stage 2, such as the Hammer Dodge, Balance Tank and the Shoulder walk.

Curtain Cling and Rumbling Dice on the 2nd Stage? I don't think so. Bad idea. Hahaha, no I wouldn't want both on Stage 2. I was just saying that the Rumbling Dice is one of my favorite obstacles so I'm biased when it comes to wanting to see it return. The Rumbling Dice is so simple, yet so very brutal.

Obstacles like Rumbling Dice, Arm Rings, Curtain Cling etc. were all placed early in the 3rd stage not to take out competitors but to spa their arm strength when they got to the CH and beyond. The Curtain Cling is highly underrated IMO- hope it make a return!

Curtain Cling, once again, is too tough for stage 2. It's IMO one of the hardest stage 3 obstacles ever, easily in the top 5.

Curtain Cling, once again, is too tough for stage 2. It's IMO one of the hardest stage 3 obstacles ever, easily in the top 5. pshhhhh its one of the easiest! the 5 hardest are easily; pillar path pole jump propeller bars needle climb arm bike duhhh /sarcasm anyway... cannon ball run, or some balance obstacle, spinning log-esk, but funnier, lets have sharks with frikken lazor beams on their heads swimming around in the water (i just watched austin powers, baby) But seriosly, an entertaining, and quick obstacle is what stage 2 needs, so cannon ball run would be perfect. And Bada, people only clear the metal spin so often cuz they have a technique, dont lock your elbows.

Of course the people who beat the metal spin have a technique, doesn't make it a hard obstacle especially if the technique is something so simple. I'm sure ANYONE who made it to stage 2 would instantly get advice from all-stars and other competitors on how to tackle each obstacle. Unless they are just so full of themselves or into the moment to get advice. Metal spin isn't EASY but it's been there long enough and out of all the obstacles in stage 2 I think atleast 2 need to go. Obviously the swing ladder is one of them, and obviously the salmon ladder and wall lift are staying. So that leaves 2 obstacles and I just chose which one had taken out less people Downhill jump took out 2 all-stars, metal spin took out Sato.

Metal Spin took out Nagano in #15 and about half of the competitors in #16, so I wouldn't sya it was easy. But yes, I think most peopel have figured out how to tackle it now. Maybe they'll make a shin-metal spin obstacle that is even more difficult. But not sure how that would work...

Shin Metal Spin= Jump to metal spin then land on a trampoline and jump off and grab another metal spin and land on a very narrow path

What about this idea (unrealistic but w/e)?
Downhill Chain Reaction Salmon Ladder Stick Slider Pendulum Bridge Metal Spin Reverse Conveyor Belt (but x2-3 the length)

OR they could put it back to where it was a real obstacle. I mean if you guys are complaining about the runup for the jumping spider then the Metal Spin should definitely get it's old runup back and not the mile it is now (<-Eggageration! XD)

Of course, I just thought of it now.

This is going to be a long post so stick with me here, but it's going to be jam-packed with... stuff you can... jam... pack. I hope this post doesn't get lost. The nice thing is you can ignore all the text and go straight to the pretty pictures! Anyway, the thread's been pretty quiet for two weeks now, along with other threads about Stage 2 obstacles. I guess I'll throw in my ideas then. Wasn't sure which thread but I'll go with this one because it's in the title, and because David started it. Since the 18th, the second stage usually gets one obstacle or no obstacles changed (with exception to the 18th with the Shoulder Walk, but let's ignore that and pretend they kept the Wall Lift anyway), but with 20, 21, and 22, there were no obstacle changes, so I think that replacing one obstacle would be too simple and really boring. It looks like everyone agrees that the Swing Ladder should go. Along with replacing it, let's also add two more obstacles. I expect Stage 1 to remain as it is, so the focus would be Stage 2 and then some of Stage 3 because of what I'm going to use. I hope you're still with me because I'm going somewhere with this! Anyway, the stage starts off the same, but the slider after the Salmon Ladder would stop about halfway (or to line up with the middle of the next platform, now instead of dropping down onto a mat, you have to grab onto the first bar of the Jumping Bars (it's not too far out, and it's just a bit lower than the end of the slider), then you land on a platform, and you start the Arm Rings (another possibility would be the Rope Maze. I thought about the Pole Maze but the increased height of the platforms would be all weird for the obstacle (probably)), then you go up some steps for a height increase and then it's the Metal Spin, but after this you go up another few steps for the Flying Chute! After the Flying Chute (you'd run the other way after getting through the net) would be the Wall Lift to finish it off. The time limit would be... about 20-30 seconds over what we have now (maybe). Everyone who passed the recent Stage 2 had about 20 seconds left, so the Arm Rings might cut off an additional 5-10 seconds, and the Jumping Bars and Flying Chute would take about 20-30 seconds, so they'd finish with anywhere from 5-15 seconds (I didn't do any fancy math, just some guessing and a bunch of numbers to look like I did). Instead of a bunch of text (because text gets boring, even though I've already attacked you with that giant block of text up to this point), I made a little sketch/drawing/doodle/scribble because I felt it would make it more interesting, and because I like pictures. The idea is to change it up but not so much that it's an entirely new stage, and enough where you can preserve it's general layout/shape, and make it realistically more difficult. Hooray for basic middle school art classes! I didn't bother drawing the first two obstacles because we know what that part looks like. Ignore the spike pit under the Metal Spin (it's the kind of stuff I used to draw... when I used to draw). No matter how I look at it, the Metal Spin always look like a jelly fish to me. And don't mind the bottom platforms, or the table leg thingies, or the dotted lines: Those were so my eyes wouldn't get screwed up trying to make out the distances or heights or where everything was or any illusions or Jesus on my toast or something. Anyway, I decided to make it in Google SketchUp to leave less to the imagination. The only experience I have would be 4 semesters of CAD class in high school (one of which I failed because I lost interest and played games during class instead), and the online tutorial videos I went through a year ago... before never touching SketchUp ever again. I didn't bother with real-life measurements or scales or proportions or anything because that would be too much of a hassle for my... "caliber." Now, with Stage 3, since the Arm Rings (or even the Rope Maze) is used, you can start of off with the Body Prop (or even the Rope Maze) or something, and in place of the Jumping Bars, you could have the Curtain Swing (the one with the four curtains) leading right to the Ascending Climb. Yeah, I'm not drawing the third stage. If I were training, I would train for something like this, so that if they actually threw something like this at us, I'd be prepared and ready instead of coming expecting one simple obstacle change in just one stage. All images were scaled down by... enough. I hope that all works, and that I've extended the life of this thread by a few posts.

tl;dr... I had to look that up. You don't really need to read it anyway as the pictures should be fine on their own.
Change it up enough to make it more interesting than just replacing the Swing Ladder, but not enough to make it an entirely new stage, and just enough to make it realistically more difficult.
Stage 2 Downhill Jump -> Salmon Ladder + Stick Slider + Jumping Bars -> Arm Rings/Rope Maze -> Metal Spin -> Flying Chute -> Wall Lift Time Limit ~ 100-110 seconds
Stage 3 Body Prop/Rope Maze in place of Arm Rings and Curtain Swing (the four curtains) in place of Jumping Bars and it goes right into Ascending Climb as well.
