So, who's training for Sasuke 23? And what type of workouts are you doing? Now might be a good time to post some daily workouts to chat up training ideas.

I are, of course. I'm doing the same basic workouts, really. Some simple strength training with weights, fast distance running for cardio and endurance, sprints for top speed, plyometrics for power and individual obstacle practice, although I don't do this much. I've already more or less mastered everything in my yard. I'm also doing other things, but they're not related to Sasuke. I've been tricking (working on kicks and other basics I've neglected) and hand balancing (handstand to elbow lever, planche, etc.) more. You know, just for style. If anyone needs help with their training, I'll be more than happy to help out, even if only like three people here believe I know what I'm doing. Such is life.

Here's my workout from Monday. This week won't be too thrilling since I'm starting to taper for a mini-triathlon.
Warm Up 2 miles on bike then 12.4 miles on bike - follow course for mini-triathlon then 2 miles warm down
12.4 miles - 40:14 Not bad for the 2nd time I've used this bike. I'm using a mountain bike for this race while I'm sure everyone else will be on an actual race bike. Don't know how much difference it will make, but I'm hoping for a time around 35:00 on race day Sunday.
Can't wait til next week when I can drop the cardio down a notch and move back to strength training! I'll have lots more interesting routines.

I'm not! I'm training for 24. I just don't have the upper body strength I need currently. Hope to have it by then. After all, a trip to Japan in March would be a great B-Day present

Tuesday 6/30 Training
Warm Up 5-min Row (>2:00 pace) then 900yd swim for time 30 mins later 5 mile bike @ fixed gear
Swim - approx 12:00 Bike - 3rd gear, 4th level
Again mostly cardio and taper for the mini triathlon. Attempting to keep up grip strength by squeezing tv production curtain clasps.
madmanmike: I think I would definitely be good to go by Sasuke 24 but who knows how long Sasuke is going to last. Gotta train like a crazy man while we know another one is on the horizon.

Meh, I'm in no hurry. Working out to much just leads to injuries that way I've found. Besides, I'm not in G4's demographic zone, so my chances are much pretty slim to none unless Monster 9 changes it's policy on how Americans get onto Sasuke.

I've actually been thinking about the demographics of who they'd pick next. They don't need another white male with Kevin, Levi, and David. Get back in the game Rusellis! But still, I gotta give it a shot.
Here's my workout for 7/2 Pullups (various reps, done in the morning, not too many to ruin the taper) 20km bike ride - 36:44 800m swim - approx 10:00
Sprint Triathlon is on 7/5. Looking forward to strength training once it's done.

Most of the finalists tend to be white males, I think most athletic african americans are more into football or basketball? I would love to see Rusellis get on though!
I'll tell you guys what I have been doing for training since getting back from Japan and I think if I had been training this way beforehand I would have easily cleared stage one in time.
I set out a course of about 15 improvised obstacles at the local park with some running distance in between them. Shoot for something that will take you about 3min to complete. Do it as fast as you can and keep in mind that you have to do every obstacle perfectly, if you mess one up you die! Repeat it over and over and try to get faster times and concentrate on not only doing the obstacles quickly, but running fast between the obstacles.
You'll probably feel like puking the first time you run it if you've done it right!

Feels like I'm 6 years old again.
Well, lately I havn't been trianing much. But I do conditioning for soccer which helps, so my cardio is perfectly fine. I just need to worry about training for specific obstacles and work on a few that I KNOW I can't beat.
I.E. final stage rope climb and Cliff-hanger.
A lot of my training is cardio and stage 3 obstacle training though. Recreating some of the stage 1 obstacles is kind of hard. Like the slider jump. Unless I pull an Oti it'd be pretty tough practicing for that.

When I work out with weights I split my time between doing circuits for power endurance and outright strength exercises.
The hardest workout I've ever done is a modified version of "Sparrow's Dozens" It goes...
12x Deadlift @ Bodyweight 12x Pullups 12x Pushups 12x Situps
And do all of that 12 times in a row. Not designed for breaks though you'll take them.
Took me 47 minutes to finish it the first time I did it.

When I exercise, I keep it strictly about strength. 5 reps or less.

Finally had my triathlon yesterday!
Sunday 7/5 Happy Valley Sprint Triathlon 750m swim in 50m pool - 12:42 20k bike - 43:06 5k run - 20:28 TRT - 1:18:48
The bike course ended up being alot longer than it was on the map, so my bike time suffered. My swim time was a minute off my goal but I made my run time goal. I was pretty damn spent when it was over.
But now the real Sasuke training begins!!

Tuesday's Training 7/7/9
Warmup 5 mins. row machine @ >2:00/500m pace then 5 dips / 5 pullups = 1 round do as many rounds as possible in 12:00 then Cool Down with Abs & Finger Rolls
12 rounds in 12 minutes. Dips were fine, started to lag on the pullups by the 5th round.

Anybody else doing any regimented workouts for Sasuke???
Workout 7/8/9
Warmup - Row 5 mins. at 500m>2:00pace then "Big Five 55" - 5 exercises done one after the other, NO REST! Deadlift @ 185# Pushup Squat @ 135# DB Swing @ 50# Goblet Squat @ 50# 10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 reps of each (55 reps!) then Cool Down on AirDyne
Big Five 55 - 27:03 Should have made the deadlift lighter and it killed my time.

The real Sasuke training, practicing my obstacles, doesn't go down too much anymore since I've more or less mastered everything I have.

I would seriously sell them if:
A. Someone was willing to pay the money for them.
B. I didn't like feeling like the white Bunpei.
