www.tvzoneuk.com/post/ninjawarrioruk-excA bit late but I just found out about this. Ninja Warrior UK is gonna be having a new series! As someone who tracked the series it had it's plethora of issues but by Season 4 they improved significantly and Season 5 was even better. I'm personally excited to see how the renewal series will go given the few years it's been since Tim Champion achieved Total Victory. Hope this will be seen so this thread isn't just me conversating with myself lol.

I'd love for it to come back.
But there needs to be a prize for winning. It doesn't need to be a million but something like 250k would be good.

Completely agreed, it's literally one of the only NW versions that doesn't come with a prize and that's a huge shame. Gotta feel sorry for Tim. Granted the emphasis put on it is different from series to series as with ANW it's a central point of the show while with SASUKE I often forget that there's even a prize. I would also like for the show to work on it's time limits, Stage One in Series 5 had a five minute time limit and Paul Allen had almost three minutes left upon completion. Had the time limit been three minutes instead there would've been 5 clears instead of 15. In that case Tim would've been eliminated but he would have only needed to be three seconds faster which I think he would have easily done.

I feel they swung way too far in the other direction with giving too much time after giving too little time. That Livewire timeout was brutal to watch in season 1.

They really did, he was going at a solid pace. I'm convinced only literal speed demons on the level of Jun Sato or Jake Murray can defeat the Series 1 and 2 Stage 2, and even then they'd probably finish with less than 5 seconds left. EDIT: Actually Series 2 Stage 2 is a bit more doable rewatching it, given you don't have to climb that little rope at the start and Cycle Road allows for more free movement than the Doorknob Grasper, which means Tim would've most likely cleared had that been the Stage 2 in Series 1. Still very tight and tricky though.

Oh, I never saw this sorry. I do but I don't really post on anything else so there's not much point in me saying, sorry. Anyways, some news regarding Series 6. We are getting a significant format change, I'm not sure whether it is permenant or not but it seems akin to Ninja vs Ninja or Gladiators to me. "The revamped format will feature, for the first time in the show’s history, a hunt for a female and a male champion. The contestants will face each other and also a team of professional Ninja Warrior athletes in head-to-head races across eight one hour episodes." variety.com/2022/tv/global/revamped-ninja-warrior-uk-itv-new-season-1235214452/I personally don't mind the format change for now, but I hope it's made into it's own series so we can still have a traditional format version.

There are definitely some match ups I'd be really excited to see especially between the big four Ts of the show (Tim Champion, Tim Shieff, Toby Segar and Teige Matthews Palmer) but given the show's trouble with establishing recurring competitors (as far as I'm aware no competitor was in more than 3 of the original seasons) I fear that we may not get any of the favourites returning. However I'm an optimist so I'll be holding out for the best and hoping for a nice mix of returning favourites and newcomers.

Quick update on this for those interested.
Official title this year is Ninja Warrior UK: Race for Glory. It's still unclear exactly how much the format has changed, but there is a confirmed prize of £20,000 for both the male and female champions this year.
Auditions are commencing this week with filming scheduled for early August. If it follows the pattern of season 5 (also filmed in Aug) then air date should be early 2023.

Glad to see there's actually a prize for winning now as it just felt wrong that Tim literally got nothing except a trophy.

Ninja UK update:
Filming is taking place in Manchester starting this weekend and running 6th-10th August.
The format will involve head to head races in round 1, followed by a race against "Pro-Ninjas" in round 2. Unsure on the details as to how the pro round will impact people advancing, or indeed who the pros will be.
After this will come a grand final. Details are unclear on this but it sounded like the usual 4 stage course, although there was talk of a rope climb off on the tower to decide the aforementioned prize winners. I guess we'll have to wait and see on that.
I know a lot of top UK ninjas auditioned for this series so I figure there'll be some familiar faces, although I'm unsure who actually made onto the show as I didn't get past auditions. All those I spoke to said they hadn't been asked to be "Pro-Ninjas" so maybe we'll get some international competitors appearing for that.

Sorry for my late reply, annoyingly it's not notifying me, but thanks for the update! I know that Toby Segar has applied to compete as was confirmed in one of the STORROR (Toby's parkour group) videos. He's the only one I know of currently though.

Not been on here in so long but thought I'd add an update! Filming is from today (6th) until Wednesday (10th) in Manchester Central. It honestly fells as though the show hasn't had a hiatus as other than everything being ninja vs ninja, the studio and dynamic look and feel the same. Ben, Kammy and Rochelle obviously are all back too. I'll post some course and format spoilers below (let's see if I remember how spoiler tags work here!): Course: Shrinking Steps Flying Squirrel Flywheel to Cargo Floating Tiles Ring Chaser Warped Wall
So this is round 1 which is competitor vs competitor, round 2 is competitor vs pro ninja on a different course.
Midoriyama is back at the end of the studio, where it will be used for a 1v1 climb off in the final. As for confirmed ninjas, I've seen: • Ali Hay • Lindsay Young • Toby Segar • Corbin Mackin • Jacob Peregrine-Wheller • Fred Dorrington • I'd imagine the majority of the ninjas who've been at Adventure Park promotion events recently will be here too.

Just got around to watching episode 1. Pretty darn fun, good start imo. Only thing I don't like is having just a six obstacle course for women but nine for men. I think it should be nine for both, most really good women have potential to do a nine obstacle course plus it keeps the tension up for longer.
