Another year, another dollar, it's the world-famous and long-overdue SASUKE Guessing Game XIX: Cliffhanger the Big Red Dog! Holy cow, next year is going to be 20 of these.
Incidentally, this year will be a milestone for me: it'll be the first SASUKE that I don't watch live since all the way back in SASUKE 22. (I have a major work project due 1/1 that I need to focus on.) 2009 was such a different time: I was a ninth grader on my way to getting banned from these very forums. A young whippersnapper named Barack Obama had just been elected to the White House. The Pittsburgh Steelers had just won the Super Bowl. Everyone was talking about Captain Sully landing a plane in the Hudson River. Honestly, it was a struggle coming up with relevant events from early 2009. Simpler times. But alas, here we are amid one of the most pivotal moments of our world's history, dealing with a pandemic that should have long been over by now, but at least with some semblance of normality returning to everyday life. (Also, I don't think the Steelers are going to win the Super Bowl this year.) Nevertheless, SASUKE finds itself at another renewal! Fans are excited to see all the new obstacle that will be part of the course this year.
In wake of Yusuke's kanzenseiha, I've decided to institute one new twist: the Bullseye.
- Choose one competitor that is not Yusuke Morimoto. You may also choose between INNER bullseye and OUTER bullseye.
- If you choose OUTER bullseye, this functions identical to Silver Competitor. This competitor must have the best result not counting Yusuke Morimoto. (Obviously, being the Golden Competitor will inherently win this.) A correct guess will be worth 25 points.
- If you choose INNER bullseye, this functions identical to Golden Competitor. This competitor must have the best result overall, beating Yusuke. A correct guess will be worth 50 points.
- Submit your bullseye like such: Boruneesan (INNER)
- As an added twist, you may not pick the same competitor for Dark Horse.
Aside from that, the rules are more or less the same as they were back on the G4 forums. Remember when G4 was a thing? Pepperidge Farm remembers.
I'm putting this at the top because I want everyone to see it: I have an Excel script* to auto-populate results. In order to make my life significantly easier, please follow the following format in your results:
#1 Competitor: 1
#2 Competitor: 2
#3 Competitor: 3
and so on. Please keep one space between the colon and the number, and please do not have extra lines between the competitors. If you'd like to put notes on the end of the competitors, you may do so, but keep them on the same line.
*probably going to migrate to Python/C# this year
Scoring for Stages:
-An exact guess for the number of stage clears is worth 20 points.
-For every instance you miss a stage by one (high or low), you will earn 15 points.
-For every instance you miss a stage by two (high or low), you will earn 10 points.
-For every instance you miss a stage by three (high or low), you will earn 7 points.
-For every instance you miss a stage by four (high or low), you will earn 5 points.
-For every instance you miss a stage by five (high or low), you will earn 3 points.
Scoring for Competitors:
-For every instance you guess a competitor correctly, you will earn 10 points.
-For every instance you miss a competitor by one (high or low), you will earn 5 points.
-For every instance you miss a competitor by two (high or low), you will earn 2 points.
-If no one is within two (high or low) for a stage/competitor, the person(s) who is the closest (high or low) will earn 1 point.
- Bullseye: See above. PICK ONLY ONE PERSON.
- **UPDATED RULES** Dark Horse: Same rules as Golden/Silver competitor, except for this category you must pick a competitor that has NEVER made the 3rd Stage OR has less than 5 1st Stage clears. Eat it, everyone who picked Keitaro last year. This is also worth 20 points. PICK ONLY ONE PERSON. To reiterate, you may not guess the same person as Bullseye.
Here's last year's course. Honestly you could tell me this was this year's course and I'd believe you.

1 - Quad Steps
2 - Rolling Hill
3 - Silk Slider
4 - Fishbone
5 - Dragon Glider
6 - Tackle
7 - Warped Wall*

*Yes, I know it's Ni Ren Soritatsu Kabe this year. SASUKE counts this as one obstacle and so do I.
Additional Rules:
-Entries are due December 27, 2021 11:59.59 p.m. EST. (Fun fact! I left 2019 in for last year's game, so technically all of you should have been disqualified.)
-If the Navi airs after the deadline, Navi results will count. If any part of the Navi airs before the deadline, Navi results will not count. As always, any result spoiled in a commercial at my discretion will not count.
-Please do not put your entry in spoiler tags. Bad things have happened in the past.
-Progress points are based on where a person falls/times out on the course.
-Ties will be broken by the combined number off for all eligible competitors/stages.
-Any information not shown on the TBS broadcast does not count.
-Fast forward segments do count, provided it shows where the competitor failed.
-If a person fails during a transition segment, the obstacle he/she was approaching will count as where they failed, provided they completely cleared the prior obstacle.
-The jump from the Quad Steps to the Barrel Climb is considered part of the Quad Steps until the competitor gets both feet on the Rolling Hill.
-The jump from the Salmon Ladder Up to the Salmon Ladder Down is considered part of the Salmon Ladder Up until the competitor gets a firm grip on the Salmon Ladder Down.
-If any answers are revealed before the broadcast, regardless of the source, that category is null and void. (2020 NOTE: There is already at least one spoiled run. Runs are considered spoiled in my sole discretion.)
-You may change your entry as many times as you want before the due date.
-Competitor list is based on the official list released by TBS.
-If you don’t know who a specific person is, look them up. We have a wikia for that.
-For the Bullseye and Dark Horse, progress on the obstacle counts. (For instance, if Jun Sato pumps out halfway through the Pipe Slider but Tomohiro Kawaguchi fails the dismount, Kawaguchi is the sole Golden Competitor.) If the Dark Horse is decided in the 1st/2nd Stage, time through the last cleared obstacle will also count. If I cannot reasonably break a tie on Bullseye or Dark Horse, there will be multiple correct answers awarded the full 20 points.
-Entries are accepted on both Sasuke Maniac Forums and the Sasuke/Ninja Warrior Community Discord. Do not enter on both.
-Have fun.
