With the shows ratings beginning to consistently drop since 21, the looming threat of the show being cancelled remains ever present. Say the show was to be cancelled for good for any tournament between 21 and present, what would have been the lamest, most unsatisfying tournament to end on and why?

Definitely 26.
26 because the results were horrendously anticlimactic, boring, and the Japanese competitors did significantly worse than the American invitees. Imagine having your last tournament ever where the top competitors of the time all failed Stage 1 while majority of the Stage 2 and 3 field comprised of competitors who no one really knew. It’s actually shocking how this could’ve very well been the last ever Sasuke tournament, and the disappointing results no doubt influenced 27’s massive nerfs to ensure the show didn’t ‘end’ on such a bleak note.
It would’ve also been jokes (not seriously as I love Sasuke but you know what I mean) if the show got cancelled after 28. Imagine Inui’s reaction when he found out that his first tournament ended so badly that it resulted in the cancellation of the show that was recently resurrected from a near death. Also how he tried to retire the All-Stars, but would’ve accidentally ended up retiring every other competitor as well.
Tbh, ending on any tournament without a Kanzen would be a bad time for the show to be cancelled as there would’ve been that feeling of ‘unfinished business’ for the competitors, but 26 and 28 defo come top for the reasons I mentioned above.

Probably 33 or 34, because it would have ended on a bulls**t stage 3 (moreso with the former because of that inane Cliffhanger, Vertical Limit, Pipe Slider combo) that was just impossible and it would've further cemented the notion that the combo would've killed SASUKE.
Honestly though, Inui's lucky he didn't end up killing the show with how badly he f***ed up 28 and 29. I reckon Morimoto's rise to prominence is what ultimately ended up keeping the show's head above water. His eventual win seems to have somewhat reduced the threat of cancellation and now that he's matched Yuuji's double kanzen everyone's probably wondering if he can do it thrice.

Since 26 and 28 were already mentioned, I'm gonna go with 10, as Kinniku Banzuke was cancelled and every All-star (except Yamada) failing Stage One. It nearly became Sasuke 19, as in the last ten numbers failing Stage One. Imagine introducing Nagano as the newest All-star and he ends up going out early and the show ends. Sasuke 9 is also another example, due to Shingo's Rumbling Dice fail and Akiyama failing the steps.

Well the aforementioned era didn't start great so SK21, I mean sure, Takeda clearing the shin cliffhanger is memorable and then Nagano clears that and then some but when it ends on an obstacle that doesn't function, thus a final stage attempt, a grand finale for any tournament with Nagano being last man standing get's robbed in such a BS way, that's pretty bad. It was also a pretty decent tournament up until that point which makes it even worse.
