I'm disappointed they're still capitalizing on having the same region by repeating obstacles.

I'm disappointed they're still capitalizing on having the same region by repeating obstacles. Really don't get this. Especially considering the fact that they had an entire season's worth of obstacles ready to go for season 11. They could've easily used those across Season 12 and 13.

I understand the logistical benefits, but that doesn't mean it should be done. Plus I pettily hate all things (big and small!) that have changed as a result of Covid so I automatically don't like this🙄 And yes, we're already down on new obstacles from last year. While it was good that essentially everything was new last week, it would've served both episodes better to distribute that wealth.

Derek Miyamoto fighting his way through Broken Bridge was hilarious. Right when you think he's about to drop, there's more, and it keeps going.

No new episode next week because of the Olympic Trials. The show returns on June 21.

I don't mind that we had repeating obstacles the course is a good hard course. They are in the same city each week so they can ajust the course based on how the contestants faired the week prior. Current stats
Week 1- 5/84 5.92% clear rate
Week 2 6/83 7.22% clear rate
Personally while seeing new obstacles is always fun I don't see the need for them to change up the course that is wiping out the field.
As for the results, Teens dominating again, all but 1 has qualified across 2 episodes so far. Viva La Revolution!

In addition, they used to always change them and the only reason they aren't is because they're in the same place. Sure it saves some money, but it's another of those changes for the worse we're seeing.

I wouldn't have minded having Tipping Point plus old Obs 5 in Ep 1, then old Obs 4 and V Formation here. Technically all of the obstacles are old in this episode huh; both balances were old. In actuality, I want to ask, specifically to ninjas who've run the course (looking at Tico here aha) - why do people choose Burn Rubber over Broken Bridge? And second, how'd you get the thing to, y'know, not spin out from underneath you while you're on it since you're running almost 100% parallel to the things?

For me, I calculate the risk and make a simple assessment. Broken bridge has 5+ steps you have to take as where Burn Rubber has 3. The more steps you take, the percentage of you falling increases. I would’ve went with Burn Rubber because I beat it before, but even if I didn’t I would still choose it because it has fewer steps for me to take. Another thing to look at is reaction. Broken Bridge has the possibility of moving the 8 different (plus they can tilt!) directions depending on what angle you hit it at. Burn Rubber can only move in 2. As far as making it not spin (or spin less), you want to apply downwards pressure at the vertical diameter point of Burn Rubber. I Triple Jumped in high school and using a similar technique, with forward momentum, seems to get the job done.

I did think Broken Bridge was a lot easier previously, but after seeing Kevin Brekke run (no offense man if you're reading this) I knew that that stuff was a lot harder than it looked.
