I have heard so many theories, one of which being that he didn't want to come back because he hadn't trained enough due to his acting career, another that he got mad about being in a video game without permission, and a few more. Has it ever been confirmed which of these theories is true?

Sasukepedia is my only reference point and it’s reliability is questionable (eg claiming Ugajin is a member of the Morimoto Sedai), but from what I understand he didn’t compete in Sasuke 9 due to scheduling conflicts and claimed that he did want to return. Then not long after the whole Monster9 game conflict occurred which consolidated that he wasn’t going to return.
I think the recent speculation over him returning is mainly influenced by the fact that Monster9 obvs went bankrupt a few years ago so there’s no association to Sasuke and thus supposedly no reason for Kane to continue his streak of absence, but realistically I don’t think he’s going to return and so he shouldn’t as he ended his career with the bang of all bangs.

Considering Shane said his reason for no longer competing was the former, it's not hard to guess Kane's was the same. Though given M9 had a history of using media without permission (hence why many themes were changed in SASUKE 28), the latter lines up pretty well. M9 made a crap ton of enemies over the years so it was only a matter of time before it would come back to bite them in the a** and so it did.
