This was such a good first episode. Between the editing, the relaxed yet professional feel of the hosts, and the surprises. This is such a good return to a normal season and I'm excited to see next week's episode.

I was stunned by how many people were tripped up on the Split Decision obstacles. I don't think we've seen Dominoes since Domino Hill in Season 5, and if I remember right, we haven't seen that Spinning Log balance beam since Season 7. If I'm wrong, I would appreciate it if someone would let me know. And V Formation was a killer!

Loved this episode a bunch. Great production, new obstacles are super innovative and well designed. I've been thinking of the first half of V Formation as a possibility for years... so to finally see it come true is amazing. Personally, the new obstacles especially V Formation, Tipping Point and Split Decision, makes it feel less like real ANW... but that's not necessarily a bad thing. Pros: - The teens. (WTF was that, a 15 year old getting 1st place???) - The shocking falls. (Danny G for instance) - 3 girls in the top 30 was also pretty insane. Great to see Lindsay near the top again. - The difficulty was very high on this course which was pretty good for a change I feel. Almost half the number of finishers as in ANW9 Denver, which has the second lowest number of qualifying course finishers. In all, Stage Two two years ago had 12x the clear rate as this lmao (21/28 vs 5/79 ) Cons: I feel like Domino Effect is a potential safety hazard if someone falls in between and gets their skull nogged by the goddamn domino That's honestly it. Split decision was great. Fun facts about people who were cut: - Dre Nuzum: Shrinking Steps. Made it to Stage Three of Ultimate Beastmaster back in the day. - Quest O Neal: Funny they didn't show anything of her, not even as a digest; she fell on Overpass. Also, does anyone notice they're sort of region segregating the courses? All the Texas area ninjas are competing here.

Decent obstacle but it reminds me of the similar Vegas one that I was always scared would cut people in half aha

Maggi Thorne and Casey Suchocki were cut, Maggi fell on Domino Effect and Casey fell on Overpass.

The fact that some moderate names were only shown on the sidelines is a little surprising. Overall, I do like the episode. Looking forward to the season.

Damn. Super low cutoff at Tipping Point, it seems. That obstacle was major hard though; you don't really see 'wrestly' type obstacles very often where you have to just "get over the goddamn thing" nowadays, but the hexagonal bit seemed drainy af. The reach across also seemed quite... perhaps not awkward, but tiring.
More fun facts - props to Adam Naids for finally getting past the balance. He'd always just failed balance in the past; in 2018 in Dallas he barely failed the final Tuning Fork, and in 2019 almost cleared the Diving Boards as well but I don't think he ever got past it. Major props to him for finally breaking out; I hope we'll see him in Vegas. Why do they keep cutting Brian Burkhardt -_- mans been in Vegas THREE TIMES already with one Stage One buzzer in the most recent difficult year to get one in, 2018.
Quick warning - don't go on r/ANW. Half the s*** there is people bashing the show for becoming a kids' show when legit only 7 teens competed and all of them placed in the top 30 lol

Bummed about Barclay and Jeri. But, that's ANW.

Jeri shocked me. Barclay, not quite so much. You could tell the entire time that Barclay was running that her focus was just not on the course. Her emotions got the better of her. It's a shame, but I can't fault her at all for it.
