I can't even watch Luci's JS attempt anymore, upon the first viewing it annoyed me., at least after she fell. I'm talking about the voices that were trembling and got higher and higher just before the person was about the hit the trampoline at the jumping spider. It's like the a*****es wanted the competitors to be scared of approaching it. Could it have thrown Luci off a little?
Reminds me of golf how they don't want any shouting or coughing before the tee off, player interference.

The voices also came before Komiya jumped and maybe the woman who beat the Jumping Spider (not Luci).

It's just the crowd getting into it and being supportive. It's like when a goalkeeper takes a goal kick in soccer. I like it.

It happened a time or two with the Halfpipe Attack and happens all the time with kickoffs in football.

Yeah... Doesn't bother me at all.
Luci just messed up, that's all. No big deal.
It looked to me like she leaned forward too much.

It's audience participation. Whether it was prompted by M9 and TBS or something that started spontaneously I don't know but it's no different from everyone shouting together when someone does the Steps at the beginning or when they are chanting someone's name.
Was it unexpected? Possibly. Was it malicious? No.
Semi-related: (at the :20 mark).

Usually when I'm competing in a game, I'm not thinking about what the crowd is doing. My head's focused on the task at hand. I doubt Luci was affected by the crowd chants.

The only thing I heard at Santa Monica was the crowd going crazy when I did the Cliff Hanger and going, "Awwwww" when I fell on the Spider Climb.

Well, i'd sorta compare the jumping spider run and jump to a foul shot in basketball, or a pentalty shot on soccer. You need your focus to help you stick the jump, make the shot, or make the goal. if someone is jeering you, it sets off your focus, which is never good.

Should've wished for Levi to fall instead. It would've been wickedly funny to see him show off and then fail the very next obstacle. XP
Anyway, I think most of the people who get the height and distance on the Jumping Spider but still fail fail because they're leaning too far forward. Luci looked like she was trying to go head-first into it.
I know it's not her fault, or anything, but has anyone else noticed that?

Once I'm done with David's blog and I get back in touch with Luci I'll set up for questions for her Sasuke 22 blog. I'm sure I know what the answer is but someone can ask her then.
