Thats what I don't get. Big companies don't even want to take the chance of someone suing, so they don't go anywhere near something as great as Sasuke.
If we have all these waivers and stuff... why not use them? Ninjafest 4 did.

Also the mud pits wouldn't just be dirt holes filled with water, they would be like portable swimming pools or something. That actually seems pretty dangerous. I'm pretty sure the reason M9 uses the dirt holes is because it's a cheap an effective way to make pools anywhere that are deep enough to break your fall without breaking your neck. Since most of the pools look like they're about 4-5 feet deep at minimum, I'd think you'd be hard-pressed to find an affordable swimming pool solution. If you want clean water you can probably get away with lining the holes with tarpaulin.

I'm just saying that in america they wouldn't dig holes like that, they'd do something more complicated. the pools of water would be more like how they are on wipeout. And the mud wouldn't be real mud it would be food coloring or something.
About the waivers, they help but having a waiver doesn't keep anyone from suing. They can still file suit and possibly win (if they can prove the tv show was negligent) and even if the lawsuit is shot down because of the waiver, the tv show has to pay legal fee's to defend thenselves, better just to nerf it and avoid any injuries in the first place from their perspective.
Also the show would be insured my some big insurance co that doesn't give a crap about sasuke and they would dictate all the safety rules. (that's what happened in Santa Monica)

Good points.
If it were me the helmet and the elbow pads would feel like they'd get in the way and constrict/obstruct movement.

That's how I felt in Santa Monica. I had a hard time focusing and they definitely didn't help.

Says you. For all we know, the very next time I'm in a situation like that, I could handle it flawlessly.

the safety gear was annoying and a bit cumbersome, but it didn't really effect my performance. Though if I had to wear that crap on the real course it would have been a different story I think!

It felt very unnatural.
I guess because we don't have safety gear on us naturally.

I've heard from my older brother that played football that you get used to it. After practicing in the full gear every day you don't really notice it anymore. Maybe we should start practicing in safety gear for the next Ninja Killer, or future American Sasuke? heh

While that is the best way to prepare for it, I'd rather not.
I don't blame the gear for my poor performance.

Pads are for people who can't play rugby.

Most Americans don't know what Rugby is.
Of the ones who do, 80% of them are probably too out of shape to play it.

Good points. If it were me the helmet and the elbow pads would feel like they'd get in the way and constrict/obstruct movement. But you guys are talking about America. Even though you sign a contract, even though you said the injuries are possible, Americans always find a way to sue a lot of money out of anyone through stupid things (even like slipping on a ice... like... WHAT?). Heck, punching once can get you sued, not cleaning your road gets you sued, anything in America can get sued. So yea. Pads and Helmets might not be comfortable. But for the show to continue on, it is necessary.

I'm going to have a big sign on my course:
YOU GET HURT, WE'RE NOT RELIABLE. BY COMPETING, YOU AGREE TO THIS.
Sound enough.
