How would you design Stage 2 and 3?

If you could design your own Stage 2 or 3, what would you implement? Largely adhering to the structure that’s been historically implemented, but if you had relatively free reign, what would you do? Here’s mine:

Note the (+) means a transition to the following obstacle with no rest

Stage 2:
1. Chain Reaction
2. Swap Salmon Ladder (but without the bs DQ rule) (+)
3. Deja Vu (think that was a badass obstacle from ANW)
4. Spider Walk with the ledges moving outwards and inwards for extra difficulty
5. Balance Tank with drops
6. Roulette Row (I initially thought of Wingnut Alley but it’s not appropriate for Sasuke as height is a really big factor for that obstacle)
7. Wall Lifting but with the handholds blocked off and limited to a cliffhanger like ledge

Not sure what the time limit on this would be. 125 seconds?

Stage 3:
1. Roulette Cylinder (+)
2. Nobori Lamp Grasper
3. Floating Boards
4. Cliffhanger Kai (+)
5. SASUKE 31 Vertical Limit (I think this is a reasonable but still hard af combo)
6. Flying Bar with 5-6 cradles, not the bs 3 ....

Let me know what you think. I tried to make these stages as interesting as possible, and appropriately hard; not just trying to make everything OP like some others would. And further to the previous thread, I tried to make Stage 3 less Cliffhanger-based, because I do agree that that’s become largely the only tense moment of the stage in recent tournaments.

I agree with you about bringing back the Chain Reaction because even though that is an old obstacle, it's still interesting for me to watch due to the fact that there is a rule involving you having to wear gloves in it, and it was also interesting to know the people that failed it as only one of them was a notable challenger, Asaoka.

Roulette Row sounds like a very good idea too, I also remember that a YouTuber who uploaded a video about the SASUKE 37 review also suggested to introduce this obstacle on the 2nd Stage, in place of the Backstream.

I would replace the Rolling Log with definitely an obstacle involving your arms as that is always how Stage 2 started off from 7 to 36. And after a Total Victory is achieved, I would replace the Backstream with the more technical Water Walls, involving rotating wheels and replace the Wall Lift with the Turbines, to make the stage more exciting to watch.

In the 3rd Stage, I would keep the current Cliffhanger iteration as well as the triple Vertical Limit combo but I wouldn't want to see the Flying Bar return with six cradles because then there would be very little chance of anybody (even Morimoto) being able to reach the Final Stage, even if some people did in ANW.

It's not really that failable an obstacle, Asaoka only failed it because he wrapped the chains around his hands which obvs didn't work; it's just a really cool concept, especially when you fly down the tracks with the old fire burst and lightning effects. I felt like the Downhill Jump that replaced it, while perhaps harder, was quite boring in comparison.

I think the Rolling Log is actually a really cool idea based on the fact that you'd have to attempt the Salmon Ladder while dizzy which has never been thought about before. I just think it's a bit awkwardly positioned as the first obstacle of Stage 2, but it would be cool to see it in action, despite the fact that I still prefer the Chain Reaction.

Fair enough about Stage 3; I'm personally bored of seeing people either failing the Cliffhanger jumps or Vertical Limit transitions. I always thought the concept of linking the two obstacles was sadistically genius, but the iteration they presented in SASUKE 32-34 was clearly too hard. I'm more of a fan of heterogeneity in Stage 3 which is why I wanted the Cliffhanger to take more of a back seat, but make the VL way harder by joining the two.

That's true about the Flying Bar but that was sort of why I liked it; the Pipe Slider is objectively too easy these days. Unless you make a mistake like Yuuji did, you're almost guaranteed to clear, unlike in SASUKE 17 where the jump was actually pretty hard. I just love the air of suspense that the Flying Bar gives you, because you know that no matter how strong a competitor is, they could fail at literally any point. To me, that's what Stage 3 is all about. It has to be the most exciting stage because you know that those who make it there are the elite and they could go all the way; they just need to get through this blockade of a gauntlet.

it would make sense to remix the course a bit more thoroughly then what Inui has been at for the past 4-5 years.

Second Stage:
1. Chain Reaction (absolute classic and a fair enough replacement for the Rolling Log)
2. Criss-Cross Salmon Ladder (by far the finest rendition of the Double Salmon Ladder concept)

3. Waverunner (again a nice improvement of the Unstable Bridge)
4. Spider Walk (preferably rearranged or motorized as in SASUKE 5 or 6)
5. Roulette Row (I've been wanting to see this one in SASUKE for a while)
6. Wall Lift (It's just not Stage 2 without the Walls)

Stage 3:
1. Something new
2. Curved Body Prop
3. Something new
4. New Cliffhanger version WITHOUT MOTORISATION

Again, this is just me wishing things but I seriously doubt Inui's gonna have the budget to do a thorough renewal, so we can expect another Sasuke 32 renewal at best....

Considering that the thread was revived thx to SK38, I'll try to keep this alive at least one last time. (also I decided to do my own version of stage 1 and 4 cuz why not)

First Stage:
1 - Twelve Timbers or Step Slider
2 - Castaway/Cannonball Drop
3 - Any ANW derived Balance obstacle tbh
4 - Dragon Glider
5 - Tackle
6 - Warped Wall
7 - Something New
8 - New Climbing obstacle or harder Lumberjack climb
Time - 95/100 secs

Second Stage:
1 - Rolling Log or particularly the Sandan Version (it is a renewal after all)
2 - Subduction Zone (Yes, I want the Salmon Ladder gone, but I also want it in the 3rd stage)
3 - Spider Walk (For the sake of budget, either a modified version of what they have, or the version from 7-17)
4 - Galleon (The VIKING version of the Shoulder Walk) or a Balance Tank return
5 - Roulette Row or a swinging version of the Chain Seesaw
6 - Wall Lift
Time - 65/70secs

Third Stage:
1 - An upper body version of the Music Box from SK31-32 +
2 - Peg Board (or whatever it's called in ANW) or something else
3 - Sidewinder but it moves in and out (like the last ledge of the CLD) or Floating Board variant
4 - Ultimate Cliffhanger (same ledge orientation, just not the size of the original) maybe with a transition
5 - New Vertical Limit (preferably an angled version)
6 - Either Swap or Criss-Cross Salmon Ladder +
7 - Flying Bar, Pipe Slider or The Wedge. The jump distance should also be further, to somewhat compensate taller competitors like Rene.

Final Stage:
1 - Either Spider Climb or Lumberjack Climb with transition
2 - Salmon Ladder
3 - G-Rope
