This isn’t ANW as much as the sport developing outside of ANW, but it seems to be the sport is becoming speed courses. Who can complete the courses the fastest. The main problem I have with this is it’s putting people against people rather than against the course. That is what made this style of competition different than any other. Competitors would conspire together to get any tips to get through the course. This resulted in people cheering for one another cause it didn’t matter what they did on the course cause it didn’t effect your performance.
Another reason I don’t like this style is it only shows one side of people’s strength. Younger kids now coming into the sport will have advantages over older people obviously. I’m not complaining about people being faster but I think That courses should be balanced more. Maybe all speed at the beginning then slowly get harder with upper body obstacles that you “have” to slow down. Pretty much a reflection of Sasuke, which is the roots we need to stay with .
Let me know what you think guys

I don't think you watched ANW recently based on these claims.
ANW9 and ANW10 was CRAZY technical and endurance-heavy. Their Stage 1, albeit boring, is exactly what a Stage 1 is supposed to be. The Qualifiers and City Finals are pretty tricky, hence why we barely see clears.
ANW11 dialed it back cuz they want a winner, but keep in mind we still had 2 regions of no clears because of how draining NP was and how BS Angry Birds was. Stage 3 was tough as heck, and Stage 2 was nerfed cuz it was needed. Was it too much? Yes. But to say it's speed based is still not a logical claim when the only races are on Stage 4 and the Power Tower.
I agree with the idea that it should be competitor vs. course and not competitor vs. competitor, but to say that's what the show is evolving into is a pretty decent sized stretch.

I really wasn’t talking about ANW, I agree with you ANW is fine which they tried to make it speed related (ninja vs ninja) but that failed. But it’s mainly NNL and the other competitions outside of ANW. Probably shouldn’t had put this thread here but I really didn’t know where else it would fit

NNL has strict time limits, but it's really to get the more efficient athletes to advance. They are looking for a World Champ, after all. But yeah, most mini regular season comps for most leagues are pretty speed-heavy. If you want a change, check out the Ninja Challenge League, Australia's NNL. They typically have pretty kaizo courses as far as local comps go. Mat Redho was last year's champ there.
