Looks like Old Yeller got a reprieve from the governor...for now. According to the j-wiki entry, Sasuke 22 earned 14.7% of the viewing audience, only .3 points more than last March's tourney, but 2.5 points more than 21. 14.7 is also the rating of Sasuke 17. It's still probably not a great number, but the huge upswing from September is promising.
Looks like my fears of people changing the channel when Nagano fell were unfounded.

I think Ube said something about the ratings being 19%+ during the final stage attempt.

I'm not opposed to him marking his calendar to remind us again of this great news in another 5 weeks.
I hereby supply a repeated "WOOT" at the ratings.

Yes, the ratings went up a full two points, definitely a big improvement. Plus, the last few minutes got a 19 rating. Which to put in into perspective, is better than any tournament after SASUKE 10.

The thread got kind of buried anyway so you wouldn't see it if you weren't looking for it. Anyway, the big thing is that the show did well in the new slot - TBS said that they won that particular slot. At the very least, the show is maintaining it's core audience. www.videor.co.jp/data/ratedata/backnum/2009/vol14.htm

Does anyone know how the ratings will affect when/if there's a Sasuke 23? No whispers about the next tournament?

There used to be a list in a thread on here that had all of Sasuke's tournament ratings. It was interesting to look at every rating the event has had, can it be brought back or does someone here have the ratings?

No, I meant that no tournament from SASUKE 11 to now has had a rating that high. So that should give you a perspective to how many people watched Yuuji's run.

Didn't answer my question. Which means there probably isn't one yet.

If you're asking because you're worried, it's too early to worry yet. 21 aired in September and we didn't get any news about it until August. If you really want to keep up on things, keep watching the Muscle Park Blog, the Monster 9 site and the G4 site (for ANC announcements). They don't have any shows ala SASUKE Mania or Kinniku Banzuke (and the shows that followed it) and it would be much too early for there to be any commercials. Just be patient for now. And if there's no show, there's no show. It won't be the end of the world.

Yeah, I'll claim a mea culpa on this one. I looked past page 1, but obviously not far enough. [There's rarely ever any information about the next show until a few months before. If you're asking because you're worried, it's too early to worry yet. 21 aired in September and we didn't get any news about it until August. I'm betting that's at least partially because TBS doesn't know how its own TV schedule will run until it's well underway. Maybe a dorama flops. Perhaps there's a last-minute schedule change. The TV season changes in July, so that's when I'd start putting an ear to the ground. At the very least, the show is maintaining it's core audience. I'd think the core audience is comparable to hockey's core audience so that probably goes without saying. It's getting everyone else to watch that's the challenge.
