So yesterday Matt Iseman tweeted a picture of a script for what could be an official ANW videogame. Link

I'm scared. GameMill Entertainment is the same company that made Big Rigs.

The game officially has a name, box art, and a release date. Will be on Switch, PS4, and XBOX One on March 19th. Says the game will have a course creator (which is cool) but apparently only features 25 obstacles from the show. www.gamestop.com/browse?nav=16k-3-American+Ninja+Warrior

Kinda disappointing too that it doesn't seem to feature any actual ninjas from the show. Having Matt and Akbar is nice, but they ultimately aren't what make the show. I think this could be a fun, short game, but this DEFINITELY does not sound like it warrants being a full price, forty dollar title.

Kinda miffed that they flat out mention "modelled on the famed Mt Midoriyama course in Japan", but seemingly don't have an option to, y'know, GO THERE. Given Sasuke's push to be as "international" brand friendly as possible, as well as the relatively short amount of effort it would take (swapping out some obstacles, changing scenery etc...), I would've thought additional modes/courses were near guaranteed.

Speaking of the new Ninja Warrior game, does anyone have any idea how the controls are going to be set up? Other ninja warrior flash games, like this brilliant one here (no sarcasm intended) at www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/643847 just featured one key to press to interact with the obstacle, rather than having keys for the arms and legs individually.

I'm guessing it's going to be a 3D platformer and a lot of quick time actions are going to be used.

Hmm that's true that for it to be announced by Matt and stuff it'd have to be high enough quality (as you said 3D). But given the diversity of movements in Ninja Warrior they would all be difficult to imitate. On XBOX I can imagine one of the joysticks for hands and the other for legs, but that would be difficult af to coordinate. I'm really excited for this game, but sadly it's not coming out for maybe another 4 months

There's a trailer out now. Interesting. Though I’m guessing whoever made this game has no recollection it of ANChallenge!

There's a trailer out now. Seems interesting, although the gameplay looks a bit clunky/slow. Hopefully there are ways to make it more fluid.

I kind of wish it was on Kinect or something. Then I could move around whole playing.

Well the game looks like it went full cashgrab s***... graphics look like they belong on PS2, gameplay looks stiff and quicktimey and the whole thing looks like it was made on a budget of Matt Iseman's leftover change after buying lunch...

I think the game looks better than I expected. But then again I expected very little. I at least appreciate that there's an attempt for the game to have a variety of obstacle. For example I saw both the Quad Steps and Floating Steps in the game.
