Well the course isn't super super simple like I was fearing. I guess it was on par with Ninja vs. Ninja. I'm curious to see what they could do when pushed more though. I hope there's an extended course or something in the later rounds. For a qualifier type of thing it was good. I just feel like a lot of the ninjas are better than the course so far.

Wow, this went above and beyond my expectations! The course was really quite solid, although I questioned the use of the Spin Cycle for the 9-10 age bracket, that's arguably the most difficult fifth they had. Also, the Fly Wheels did NOT look 1/2 inches on either side, neither did the Flying Shelf Grab look 3/4 inches. Check your facts Laurie.

Well there's 1 pro and 1 con for me here:
Pro: I missed the Devil Steps and am glad they brought them back
Con: There's 16 qualifying episodes
There's so many matchup per episode before semifinals I might get a little fatigue from the show. I feel like I won't be the only one.
Overall it was VERY entertaining and I'm hoping it doesn't lose its steam. It's on a kids channel so it won't bother kids, but the older viewers might get kinda over it.

the kids were much stronger than i thought, especially that 14yo Hudson dude - impressive beating someone with 5 inches on them. one of the best moves I saw in the Caleb kid on the flywheels dismount - that was good stuff.

I feel like this is a show where we all go in with low expectations and we'll be pleasantly surprised by it as it goes on.

There is no doubt I will get fatigue. 2 down but 14 to go before semis? We aren't invested into the kids enough to really want to see them race side by side. I feel like the format would have been better if it was more like ANW as opposed to Team Ninja Warrior. They could have gone something like 9-10 qualifier, 11-12 qualifier, 13-14 qualifier, 9-10 final, 11-12 final, 13-14 final, stage 1, stage 2+3+(4?). It would be cool to see how far the best can actually go. The con for that would be how to do it in hour episodes and it would involve A LOT of kids failing, or it being too easy. Because I feel like some of these kids are pretty damned talented and I'd like to see how far they can be pushed. Then again, I'm not a kid so I'm not the market anyways.

I love this ANW JR so far. It is much more entertaining then the Team ninja format. Every one for themselves. I like that they are allowing all the kids to get airtime while showing all but like 2 full runs.
THANK GOD they are not showing sob stories. The profiles are short and to the point which I think works. It allows us to get to know the kids with out trying to guilt trip us.
I also like that they have Boys and Girls running side by side. The obstalces are great downsized but not nerfed which I was really happy about.
16 qualifying episodes not a problem for me. I have a lot higher tolerance for watching the same thing over and over again when its the JR shows.
As long as they keep doing that they are doing this will be a huge success. Keep it about competition, keep it in the day time, and keep the same format (unless doing a full course) and everything will be perfict

I was definitely impressed by how well-made it was, but likely won’t make it past the second or third episode with these same obstacles ad nauseum.
