Why do they always make the hardest obstacles easy like the jumping spider in 20 is way easier than the one in 19 and the flying chute in 20 is nothing compared to the one in 19 and they even made the salmon ladder and cliff-hanger easier . The new salmon ladder has a thin bar and is easy to beat now, come on even Sato beat it.The cliff-hanger has even been made easier the second ledge isn't as steep as it used to be.

The Shin-Cliffhanger definitely isn't easier, just more people are used to it and know how to beat it. Same with the Salmon Ladder.

Jumping spider- cuz 42 people failed it and only 2 people cleared sasuke 19. so they needed to make it easier. More clears= More Ratings= longer TV run. Flying chute. Onyly 3 people passed it. same deal as J-Spider Salmon Ladder: Maybe Sato is actully... good? hard to believe right? The thinner bar i think might make it a lil harder to control. But its still heavier than sasuke 18-20 and it the same weight as 21 Shin Cliffhanger- refer to Scnoi's post

Unlike before, when there'd be 10-15 clears normally and a few weaker competitors could sneak through ,the 1st stage is now only cleared by either top athletes or people who train specifically for Sasuke. Also we've been in Shin-Sasuke now for 2 and a half years. So for 5 tournaments now people know that in general: If I can do the salmon ladder, I can pass stage 2! so people will train specifically for that.
As i've said before, the Shin-Cliffhanger is NOT that hard. You all will call me insane for saying this, but its actually a timing obstacle. With practice, prop technique, and enough strength, anyone can get down the timing and easily clear. In those same 2 1/2 years, people have finally found that mix. Consider this: in 18 no one knew what to expect so it was just a shot in the dark for all 3 In 19, no one got there, In 20 Levi was totally clueless how to do it correctly. In 21 and 22 4/6 passed. It's just the natural progression of the competitors. I'm sure you've played many games in your life that after you play awhile seem very easy, not beacuse the game was made easier, just because your skills and knowledge increased and you were more use to what was going on. Sasuke is no different to those who are willing to put in the time.

The cliff hanger is no different now to 18 it is the same in all 5 shin tournaments, all thats happened is people have trained for it now either by their own replicas or at muscle park. Same with the Salmon ladder really everyones just sussed the best ways to do it.
The jumping spider had to be toned down a smidge from 19 - they wanted to make it harder than in 18 but over compensated a bit too much same with the flying chute in 19 ultimatly leading to a disatrous tournament from a viewers point of view, hence they toned the chute too and the time limit up to 120.
Some will argue over the Gliding ring no doubt but I have no problem with it as in 22 it worked how it was SUPPOSED to do - it was not supposed to be as stupidly hard to move down the bar as it was in 21.

They want the course to be challenging but not impossible.
Now MINE, on the other hand... Psh. People are gonna explode.

i thought the whole point of redesigning the course after Nagano won was to make it impossible

i thought the whole point of redesigning the course after Nagano won was to make it impossible Whats the point of that? No ones gonna watch a show wheres its impossible to basically get anywhere near remotly winning.

I know, right? I would too.
But no, Higuchi wants the show to be entertaining for us at home, and yet still challenging for the competitors. I remember watching Sasuke 19 and thinking, "WTF? So that's it? We don't get to see stage three?"
At the same time, though, I don't want Sasuke 22 to happen where somebody flies through the course and almost beats the Final Stage. I mean, think about it. Only TWO people have ever done it. TWO! In 11 years, two. Each time, the victor built his way up. Akiyama and Nagano both got close before winning. Yamada showed this too, even though he never quite got there. But in 22, that guy fly in out of nowhere and BOOM, new hero, everyone!
I don't much care for that, either. :/

Sadly the problem with the general public is that they want to see clears and plenty of attempts on the 2nd, 3rd and Final Stages, so when you have 2 people clear stage 1 and both fail stage 2, where does that get you? Your ratings drop significantly. If I'm correct Sasuke 19 got a 15.2% rating and then the next tournament it dropped to 14.4%, then in 21 it dropped to a 12.2%. That's a HUGE ratings drop hence the obstacles had to be made easier. The Jumping Spider was insanely difficult and like someone else said only 3 passed the Flying Chute. It had to be done, i enjoy the fact the course is now at a high level of difficulty, however when the general audience wants to see a course were 10+ people clear, what are you gonna do? Make your course easier so you can so more clears. Why do you think the ratings from 21 to 22 went up, b/c the course(In 21) had 9 clears which is what people want to see(not to mention the final stage attempt)

I think Nagano doing so well in 21 may have paved the way for better ratings as well. You know, it's like, "Iron Man 2? Who cares." But if you saw the first one (which was good in my opinion), you instantly want to see the next one.
I would actually like for the difficulty to only go up. For as long as I can remember, Sasuke never got easier. It may have stayed the same, but its difficulty never went backwards. After 19, they started making it easier. I think when we have a disaster like 19, the course should stay the same (aside from the usual changes - one or two obstacles, etc.) I don't think anything on the course should be intentionally made easier.

Sasuke 19 was a mistake. the competitors weren't ready for that level of difficulty. Only 15 or something people got past the 4th obstacle. If the difficulty had stayed the same, Sasuke 20 could have seen all 100 fail. The producers made it easier because the difficulty was insane. BTW, Four people beat the flying chute in 19. Kawahara, the wrestler number 57, Washimi, and Yamada.

I said this before one time if the producers really wanted their shock and awe all 100 fail thing then really sasuke 19 is what 18 should have been plus they could get away with it in terms of ratings as people would find it belivable since its all new sort of thing.

For the record, the Salmon Ladder was changed. The bar was changed for 21, and again for 22. We know it was a bit heavier in 21, I'm not sure if the change for 22 was just back to the original or a different bar entirely.

I disagree. It was hard, yeah, but I think it should have stayed the same. I believe in Sasuke 20, people would have prepared harder and everything MAY have been fine.
I'm just saying - we have no idea. We can't assume 20 would have been as bad as 19 if they hadn't made it easier. We just don't know.

i thought the whole point of redesigning the course after Nagano won was to make it impossible Only for 19 (Or, specifically the one after Nagano won). They soley wanted people to recognize that from then on out, it wasn't going to be the same old Sasuke. Having people fail 100% after that wasn't going to happen, but it looks good for ratings. Ever heard of the 100 vs 1 rule? The 1 could be incredible and be able to take out the other 50, 70, even 90 of the full 100 (Insert whatever you'd like the 100 vs 1 to be). But because of the sheer number game, you have 100 chances to defeat the 1. One of those many chances must succeed. That's why Sasuke was re-designed to try to eliminate all 100. Because they knew it wouldn't happen. People would slip through, and that's what happened. And now look what's happened: People are far more determined to succeed now, people are getting stronger and faster. It's not starting to look good for the ratings, because people want to see people succeed... who knew So, now after all these insane obstacles, things are starting to slowly get easier. We'll always be harder than pre-Nagano, but until ratings pick back up, slight changes will be made so more and more can pass.

I don't think that people just want to see people succeed.
I, personally, like the dark atmosphere where 95 people have failed so far and we're down to our last hopes.
