Yusuke's body is purpose built for SASUKE. He's very light and with an insane amount of muscle density in body. If TBS wants to make him fail, they have to change the 2nd Stage and attack his miniscule vulnerabilities there (for example, make it mandatory to lift the walls above a certain height or sth). This guy is insanely smart and a student of the competition. With that being said, I can expect a "Nagano-like" dominance from him, but I don't think that he'll be able to achieve what Nagano has achieved anytime soon the way Nagano did.
Nagano is probably the most gifted competitor to ever set foot on a SASUKE stage. He belonged in an era, where you couldn't just build a replica of an obstacle you wish to train (minus the basic ones) and he didn't have the means to train like alot of the SASUKE competitors do now. He just had a feeling for it, he was the most relaxed and happiest guy out there on his prime and was destroying the competition whenever he wished. In a competition where most of the other 99 competitors were there, trying to prove something, being all serious and moody, Nagano was shining like a star. Look at guys like Drew Drechsel. I really like the guy but I really do start to think that he's kinda overrated. He trains on the obstacles almost every single day. He's been doing this 365 days a year and yet hasn't achieved anything that others did with the 10-15% of effort Drew has put on these courses. He's a hardworking guy for sure but he's a prime example of SASUKE's condition nowadays.
The above paragraph leads me to the fact that Morimoto is the first guy since Nagano to give me those "relaxed, having fun" vibes" while running the course. He had that attitude even before he became a champion and that is slowly making him likeable in my eyes. Still, I can't get over the fact that he doesn't lift the walls like a freaking man, but I'm slowly letting this slide. He's not as gifted as Nagano, that's a fact, but right now he's ahead of the course and I can't see it catching up to him anytime soon. I fully expect him to achieve a 2nd Kanzenseiha soon and it's going to be a fantastic moments. Yuuji's feat of achieving this is insane in its own right, but his inconsistent performances + the fact that he never really won the crowd like Nagano and Yuusuke did, mainly due to not handling his "power" within the competition properly, really negated him to everyone's eyes.
Messy thoughts for sure, but all in all I'm excited to see what's next for him.
