Onto ep 2 {Spoiler}HOLY s*** THAT CUT WOW! Oh wow cool they really changed things up on ep 2. More energy coils and then a bar into something thats similar from stage 3 last time and this time no mag wall. Good they're learning. So proud aha. Chris's poem for france aha. I really like this change up so far. WOW OK BACK TO THE CUT OMG WOW. One of my fav things about this show is how supportive everyone is of each other. That's how it should be. The biggest issue I have with ANW US vs The World is how competitive and hostile it looks and feels. This all feels like a family. I love it. Also USA in 1st woooooooooooo!
Stage 2 and wow 1st place goes out on the first obstacle. Wow.
Stage 3 and we have our first women yayyyyyyyyyy! Our first treadmill fail of the season. No one has made it past the second obstacle. AND THE FIRST STAGE 3 CLEAR WOOOOOO!!
And China wins one woooo!

13 mins into ep 1 and all I can think is it's much better. If you didn't like season 1, give it another try!

The editing and obstacle choices are much improved, I think they really did step back and think about the lessons from the first season.
Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for the hosts. Jesus H Christ on crutches is Chris DeStefano a terrible fit for this. His puns are awful, and vaguely almost kinda sorta racist. At the least, his comments play into stereotypes way too damn much. Miss Terry Crews bigly.

They have a split-path on the First Level that they alternate between on different episodes. That's it. No variations like last even. It's basically if they only had Throat Erosion and Brain Matter to change last year. Far less variety.
The episodes are way too long. Why are they longer than the first series when everything was actually new. Now I'm sick of the obstacles I would hate to have to suffer through 620 minutes of repition in total.
I miss Terry and Charissa's hosting, thought they bounced off of each other a bit better. I also miss the overall vibe that the previous season had that this one seems to lack. Too many dumbed-down obstacles (such as now being able to step into Digestive Track and everyone getting the Point Thruster for Spinal Descent after they already are on the first gear of Stomach Churn. LAME.
The Point Thruster tapping idea is stupid as it seems to randomly pickup some taps but not others. Far too many have solidly touched it without it counting so far (and I'm only halfway). It was cooler when they had handles too.

Just finished watching the final episode. Please note that I'll be stating results from the finale below, which in turn are ginormous spoilers. You have been warned. {Like I said,GINORMOUS SPOILERS AHEAD.YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!} *Alberto Gotto was eliminated before France, and the Italian hosts were not happy. *John Gerzik,a schoolteacher, and Kyle Soderman from NNL,both on Team USA,were both eliminated in Level 3. *The Final 2,Haibin Qu from China and Manuel Cornu from Ninja Warrior France, were neck-and-neck on Level 4,but in the end,Haibin Qu became the current Ultimate Beastmaster. *Also,Tiki and Chris said that Haibin was the FIRST-EVER Ultimate Beastmaster. So that means that Felipe Camargo was the LMS of Season 1.

Definitely worse than season one - if only because everything was at least new to us back then. We need a ton of changes for next year or I might not be bothered to watch another one. Did you like this one better?

I will say Ninja Warrior Ryan you nailed it on the overall recap
Ok I am now on the last episodes the American team had better talent than season 1 but I would say overall I thought France and China did the best at identifying talent. I would say that a lot of the ANW contestants we see would do better on this course

You must hate Sasuke now huh? There was a lot of changes just nothing major which really wasn't needed. There was some things I def hated but over all I enjoyed it better if only for the pure fact Stage 3 & 4 were how I think they should've been in the first place. I personally think stage 1 should be how stage 3 was in season one where you could chose to gain bonus points but lose points if you failed the obstacle. That would've been a nice touch but oh well.

I would say that a lot of the ANW contestants we see would do better on this course I wouldve done every ep but it seemed pointless past ep 2 lol. Plus I got busy with my job. But over all I liked this season. The finale was pretty top as well and nail biting however {Spoiler}once the top france person failed I knew it was gonna go to china at some point since the americans couldnt do stage 3 or 4 completely

Not really, but I certainly love the old eras A LOT more than Rising. So much more variety and excitement. The same obstacles everytime is boring. The new Level Three was the one good improvement I feel was made. Everything else was a bit repetitive and a let-down.

Personally I find this season wayyyy better. Having new hosts and fixing holes in the format helps

I think this season was better than season 1 however the Episodes were longer making me lose interest a bit. At least Level 3 and 4 got a major change.

Personally I find this season wayyyy better. Having new hosts and fixing holes in the format helps So I went back and rewatched a season one episode to make a fair comparison here: I found the new hosts to not go as well for the show. They were fine, but Tiki was clearly there as the Akbar figure (which I don't require having on Beastmaster), while Chris really ONLY did jokes. Neither seemed as excited/interested as Terry was in season one, to me at least. The points now are nice because they recognize the competitors' progress through the obstacles, yes, but they also make the scoring too hard to keep track of when you don't have the scoreboard in front of you. I also admit that I liked season one's point-system because it made time more of a factor - as it often was the tie-breaker. And I think the longer length of the episodes definitely hurt it in the end. To give fair criticism for next year, I feel that as long as they add some more fair modifications to help differentiate the season, and have a split-path on each of the first three levels, it should be much better. And have a variation or two for most episodes, like they did in season one.

Just get rid of Chris. The deeper I get in the season the more his presence wrecks the enjoyment. Heinous borderline racist ugly unfunny jokes mixed with misogyny that feels straight out of SpikeTV. Freakin' apalling they thought he'd be a good host.

I have 2 more episodes to go but my thoughts :
Terry Crews was a much better host. They just need a good suitable partner for him.
Tiki and Chris seem bored, have no technical/sports analysis and repeat the same stuff over and over. And glad I am not the only one who thinks Chris is borderline racist.
The Indian and Italian hosts are good though. Good fun which is how it should be.
Stage 4 is awesome.
Points system is much better. And the courses are better overall. Though more variety would be nice.
Point thrusters should be simpler. Big red Sasuke style buzzers.
Glad there is much less of the USA USA USA chanting.
Definitely a much better season overall but still with plenty of room for improvement.
Netflix please make a deal with NBC and TBS to get a few top Ninjas on board for future seasons. And let's have Netherlands in Season 4.

Watched random episodes for this show - episodes 8 and 10 (yeah, I'm jumping, indeed). Do you guys have any other recommended episodes to watch other than the finals? For me, I think the show's kinda improved from the previous season with the new obstacles. And it seems like they could make the point thruster button to be easier to push - I saw some competitors need to push the button for some times before it's activated. The hosts are also fine - love the interaction between the hosts from each country. And it seems Francesco getting up the podium when an Italian completed the course/doing well and/or asking the watchers to shut up when an Italian competitor started their run became a running theme, eh? But kinda wonder why the hosts said that this season's winner is "The First Ultimate Beastmaster?" Was it because the winner from the last season didn't make it to the top of Stage 4? {Spoiler} And oh dear, Cornu did an awesome job despite that injury.

Yeah, they said he was the first Ultimate Beastmaster because the guy from last year didn’t make it to the top. I think the winner of each season should count as a Beastmaster. In fact, I think last year’s winner cleared more stages than this one! It’s a bit of an arbitrary rule and the way they announced it made it seem pretty strange.
