Did Yuusuke get his own apartment after winning? Yuusuke has work housing (see information on him during Sasuke 32 to understand why he wasn't there and how his life changed when he graduated from college and went into the workforce ) There is no way they will not invite her back considering she's the first female to beat Stage Two in the world during a tournament (including ANW) let alone make it as far as most of the guys did in Stage Three. You can pretty much assume she'll be there at this point. You are forgetting the hoops Drew has had to jump for the past several years.. and he was the last man standing in a lot of them... hell we don't even know if he's invited for the next one.. welcome to TBSLand™

Inui left it in during editing anyway. Unless NBC pulled something.

Besides, TBS international is the one that ultimately makes the decision on which ones come in and which don't. Inui may do the final invitation call/email, etc. but that's after the behest of TBS.. the same TBS that didn't want to pay for any American (including Kacy who paid her own way to Sasuke 32).

Unless Japanese people are aliens I'm fairly sure sex appeal draws them to the TV screen the same way it does to Americans. Plus TBS don't really have to worry about Jessie actually clearing the course and outshining the Japanese like with Drew. Which is incidentally why she'll never get on Kunoichi (afaik) hahaha.

True but the opposite effect could take place (and has in the past with Kacy believe it or not) where they feel threatened that a women is more powerful than them and lash out against the inequality. That happened with Kacy where they felt it was a slap in the face to all the Japanese women so the near clear of Kacy was just the tip of the iceberg and they were lukewarm to both the show and to her. They didn't blame her but it was just a symptom of a much bigger problem of Sexism in Sasuke. I haven't been keeping up with the news on Sasuke for the past year so I'm not sure what the current state of it is in Japan. Generally though it's not what the international community (which is versed in ANW but Japan is not) thinks but usually the opposite. Feeling threatened in a sexist society where most women are objects you collect as conquests and not real people is a huge problem in Japan. So I can see the fall out of not latching on to Jessie because they don't want to encourage that feeling of low self esteem. Yes it's as bad as it sounds.. I'm horrified by that notion. I just wish it was like it was when M9 was around that if you passed the 1st stage there was no question you were invited back and in turn M9 would negotiate with the international broadcasters to have those "stars" come back with at least transportation and accommodations paid. It's unacceptable to think that after 27 no American regardless of gender was actually compensated for travel on an INVITE.. I'm laugh at how Makoto sees things "hey I'm fine doing the commentary now.. at least I'm being paid for it finally".. LOL You know it's bad when the star of the show makes a crack about that kind of stuff.

]Wait Sato isnt liked? Can i have a link to more information about this? TL;DR he has an ego, he thinks he's so good and people speculate that was from his time in europe but he was like that before, the stars don't want to hang out with him. Also I don't know if you heard about what he did in 33? (Might have been 32 but I think 33) when he cleared stage 1 but uhhhm, so... He did a handstand on the rails, gestured to his junk DX style, flipped off the camera and was saying things to the camera which we don't know exactly what he said but people in attendance overheard some offensive language in it sooooo yeah........

TBH, as a Japanese both lived in Japan and US, I don't think sexism in Japan is any worse than other developed countries. "Feeling threatened in a sexist society where most women are objects you collect as conquests and not real people" feels just like a FUD. Averaged out, I think Japanese men are as sexist as Americans and so on.
I thought that crowd reaction in Sasuke was mostly based on the fact that she finally owned the first stage after looong time since Warped Wall introduced. The announcer was careful enough to never call her a girl or female but a woman, so he was also politically correct if anything.
I would also not believe that TBS/Inui and the team edited the show in the way that would even slightly offend female audience. The overwhelming majority of people watching TV in Japan anymore is women who also are much more vocal on social platforms than men (this explains why Sasuke's editing now only seems to care about those with family, or a girlfriend, or a friendship of sorts). So if there was a display of such during the tournament they will remove the fleck out of it.
On the other hand, however, the television industry has been infamous for its total lack of ethical compliance and bloated ego, and TBS is no exception.

Agreed that they are not that different in nature but in practice it is more common in Japan - especially in the workplace. I mentioned the concept of no sexism laws where they are firmly in place here. You can get sued for sexual harassment here in the USA but you don't hear that in Japan because laws don't exist. It's like the 1950's - forget the concept of equal pay.. they can't even get the jobs that make an appreciable amount of money let alone the same as men. Plenty of my friends in the workforce constantly tell me their stories of that kind of problem in Japan. It truly is decades backwards in that regard and has been a hot topic in many arguments I've had over the subject with both TBS and Inui personally. They don't see anything wrong with it as "it's part of their culture" and that's part of the problem. That's why there's a boob cam and women being introduced by their breast size in 2017 Sasuke. No one has taken women seriously in Sasuke for a looooooooong time to the point that people just joke about the status of women in Sasuke and to some extent Kunoichi. Ratings for both shows have been dreadfully low so the idea of more women watching while it may be true (unsure since Japan does not detail demo stats publicly while in the USA there's daily charts with extreme detail) it doesn't equate to much of anything since the viewing audience is painfully low even by comparison to other television networks in Japan.
The audience that goes to Sasuke is a closed ecosystem and usually derive of diehard fans of the show and/or family of other diehard competitors and not necessarily representative of the average viewer. Also given the low ratings it's obvious that many people just gave up on the show when M9 went down. The Kacy reaction was interesting to me since I didn't think it would be that way but after much reflection - it made sense. Jessie just makes everyone else look bad and shows how lopsided the playing field is compared to the USA. Diehards will know that and given the Kacy reaction I don't see them not having that exact same reaction - or even stronger given how far she went (matching Drew's result..). Both times (Kacy and Jessie) the women themselves were not the target of any negativity.. it was what they represented - that was TBS' lack of foresight in actually developing home grown talent. Hearing the careful comments from the announcer was pretty cool though I know what they all say when the mics are not on their mouths. It was the topic every time I was there and hearing reports when Jessie was there it was in the forefront. If anything from the ground they were intimidated by someone that good.. who happens to be a hot woman. LOL They just couldn't compete.

Having never watched much ANW (all the time spent showing contenders workouts instead of actual competition annoyed me), I knew of Jessie only by name. She truely was the star of Sasuke 34, a stunning performance, did herself proud and seems like a lovely person :-) Hope we see her back in 35, along with Kanno and Asa, missed them!
Drew was again not given enough screen time which is sad to be honest, but back to the positives, it was so good to see Kong, Takeda & Yuuji clear stage 1 :-D

Out of curiosity, does anyone know if the ratings for 34 have been released yet? Also, can anyone back up the "All Cut" results being posted to the corresponding SASUKEpedia page for 34? Until a source can verify them, I'm assuming someone just made these results up.

If it's true that Torisawa actually got to Fishbone I'll kick Inui for not showing his run.

They didn't show Torisawa who's the most entertaining guy to watch. They didn't show Drew despite him finishing with 38 seconds left (not that you would have noticed since they didn't give a sh*t). Stage 1 is just strange to sit through nowadays.

I'm a big Drew fan, but didn't expect him to get shown. Him, Sato, and Nagasaki have become their own grouping of fast forwards now. A sort of "same run, different year" mindset. Plus he's not a huge draw to their ratings demo I would imagine.
But....I can practically guarantee that if anyone completed that first cliffhanger jump before Drew, he would have been triple fast forwarded. So I'm taking what I can get.
Bigger sadness is that we have likely seen the end of Wreathman. Unless they accept a "he didn't know better" attitude, his KuroOvi appearance likely will get him uninvited for 35.
