Hm, I feel like the show is much better than S2. It must be either lack of promotion of people aren't as interested, or there is a big show in its timeslot.

Have they ever mentioned let alone promoted NvN/TNW on NBC? A lot of casual viewers who might be interested in it may not even know it exists.

None of these shows (whether they were on Esquire or USA) have ever been an NBC produced show. It won't ever be promoted in the same way as the mainline ANW shows. It was an experiment. That is all.

My question is why NBC not own the airing ? Why have to be another channel when NBC is anw-identic USA Network and NBC are owned by NBCUniversal who in turn is owned by Comcast. They're part of the same family. G4/Esquire was a part of it as well. IIRC, USA is the biggest cable network NBCUniversal has under its umbrella. Season 2 was on USA and they were ranging from 800k-1m viewers. They're consistently at 600k this season but that's a steep drop compared to last year. But NBC doesn't touch from a production standpoint, just that Ninja Warrior has always aired in the same family of networks. There's something to say about its slot as well. Last season, they were backed by WWE SmackDown as a lead-in on Tuesdays which consistently gets 2, occasionally 3 million each week. Now they're on Thursdays as the only big show. Unsolved, USA's new show they've been really pushing, is now the beneficiary of that lead-in (to some extent, consistently retaining about a million of those viewers although last week's dipped under a million but SD also has a big loss from 2.8 mil to 2.5 mil as well).

I don't know if this is due to ratings or just schedule changing but I noticed it used to rerun before RAW, now a rerun is the show coming on after RAW.

I'm enjoying the season so far. The change of having a relay being used in tiebreakers instead of teams choosing someone to run again is a good one as it stops teams with one superstar and 2 duds getting through
As for is it too much ninja warrior
Well Ninja warrior is an interesting one, because it is part tv show and part sport. More year round coverage means more profile for the competitors which means they are more successful in opening ninja gyms etc

It’s a shame the show isn’t doing as well as last year, especially since I feel like they have improved the show from the past. I do think the season for ninja vs ninja is a little long... Too many teams, I’m even losing interest in watching week to week bc I’m ready to watch the bigger matchups but they are still in qualifying round and still have to do wild card episodes too.

So according to the preview the time slot is now Monday after raw. Probably hoping for a ratings boost.

So according to the preview the time slot is now Monday after raw. Probably hoping for a ratings boost. The big problem NvN is going to have now is the fact that RAW does not end at the same time every week. Sometimes it ends at 11:05. Sometimes it ends at 11:20. Keep that in mind if you DVR the show. I have a feeling they're just going to let the show finish its run and that's it.

What I saw online said that the show is still doing reruns on Mondays, but now after Raw instead of before it. New episodes still should be on Thursdays at 9 (unless a new ad comes out this week advertising new episode Monday)

Just a heads up, this week was episode 6. Also, holy crap, even with an actual lead in the show produced its lowest viewership yet.
