Also I checked. Tatsuya Tada and Keitaro Yamamoto ARE COMPETING! Arsenette MUST be happy for this one! Yes and about damn time. Asa injury I mentioned before - just go back to that thread. That's why he was replaced. Kanno same - notice he never really shows he leg completely - Achilles tendon injuries suck.. Happy for Dion as he's a huge Sasuke nerd. Interesting they put Jessie that high (agreed with William that they probably relented to her doing the men's course) and I STILL maintain what I said from 32 that Jessie is going to the 3rd stage with this course. I will be shocked if she doesn't make it to the 3rd. Okay going back to being quiet. LOL

{My thoughts on competitor list} YAY DION TRIGG AND JESSIE GRAFF! I am a bit annoyed that drew did not get 99. Yusuke Suzuki has taken a hefty move down, from 93 to 84. Why is Ryo 94? Yuji being 99 caught me off guard. Also Kong deseves more than 83. Really, Darvesh 89?

Using the posting of the competitor list as the cutoff, direct all competitor talk to this thread.
People are shocked by Yuuji being 99 -- he's the 2-time champion and it's an anniversary tournament (33 they remarked about it being 20 years of Sasuke but this tournament they're actively celebrating it). Akiyama was 99 numerous times post-win even when his record wasn't the best. Yuuji's number has fluctuated all over post-27. He's had 88, 89 (x2), 93 and 99 (now x3).

Asides from being 2-time champ, he's also very clearly announced his intention to return in better form with all the training videos. It's possible he's got 99 for this tournament in part because Inui and co. are banking on him having a good run. Although it is probably more because of his champion status in an anniversary tournament. Would go to explaining why Ryo has 94 and why Shingo is still in front of Takeda, as others mentioned.

That moment when you're more focused on analyzing the backgrounds of photos than actually focusing on their main points: Based upon the amount of bags and water bottles in the rows of seats by the start line, it may be reasonable to assume there were already some clears by the time these pictures were taken (possibly near the times Jessie and Drew competed, or slightly beforehand).

Jessie surprisingly high at 87, but I think she has a really good chance at clearing Stage 1 and could even hold her own on Stage 2. Really surprised Drew didn't get 99 given that he's achieved the best result for two tournaments in a row. Nothing short of a Total Victory is going to put him at 99 or 100. I think the reason he isn't higher is because he is a foreigner No. 100 is Yusuke because he is the era champ. 99 is Yuuji because he is the only other Kanzensei still competing and this is an anniversary event 98 is Tomo because despite last year, he is still a top contender and has made at least 2 final stages we know of, something Drew has not. While Drew is last man standing, Tomo has held his own, getting solid Stage 3 runs at the same time. Tomo has maintained his expectations and there is not really a reason to lower him. We also have the results of 3 unaired "Vs the World" competions (USA 2017, Indonesia and Viet Nam 2017), which we do not know by TBS could easily take into account for bidding. He may have had 2 or 3 really great performances. Also: Let's be real bout the fact that Drew is only 97 because Asa is gone this season. Asa is a highly consistent, highly motivated, and popular competitor. He almost certainly would have gotten 97/98 this season, had he competed. I could talk about it at length, but there is no evidence to suggest that Drew's position is anything to do with being a foreigners. They think he is a top 5 competitor, he is a top 5 competitor. The other guys have strong performances and legacies. And at the end of the day, the bid numbers are essential a "for fun" number to try and build excitement, that doesn't really have a huge impact on performance. Drew is still final 5 and that is exciting. If they straight up gave Drew #1 next year I doubt it would have a meaningful impact on his performance.

But I personally think due to the brightness out, that might just be their stuff set down to take a picture

Inui has blurred out the chairs for trailers, preview scenes and Navi runs. Clearing the seats for pictures is a much easier task.

Asa is a highly consistent, highly motivated, and popular competitor. He almost certainly would have gotten 97/98 this season, had he competed. While I disgree with Tomo being above Drew, I can understand it, since he has made Final Stage appearances. Hard to argue against Grand Champions being above him as well. However, I can't agree with you at all about Asa being deserving over Drew. Drew has had the best result in the tournament twice in a row. That very rarely happens. Asa has made 8 appearances and 5 Third Stages, Drew is 4/5. Drew has never failed to reach the Cliffhanger when he made Stage 3, Asa failed once. Drew has completed the current version of the Cliffhanger (something no other competitor has done yet), while Asa has never completed any version of the Cliffhanger. Asa is known for being fast, but Drew is faster still. If Asa had competed and gotten a more favorable number than Drew, that would've been clear evidence that Drew was knocked for being a foreigner.

Drew and Jessie's participation on the show has reached ANW NationIt's cool they finally reported on it, but it annoys me that it took so long. 5 straight for Drew. I guess Jessie's popularity has eclipsed Kacy officially. NBC still won't use the words "Sasuke" & "Drew Drechsel" in the same sentence, though haha. If Jessie clears 1st stage, I wonder if NBC will cave and promo the heck out of it
