Well you must have magical ones. All my friends who have worn them have reported the same uselessness.

Do we know what the jumping spider landing area is made of?
I have a place I can do it, bricks on the left, painted dry wall on the right. I can always get a good grip on the left but the I always slip at the start with my right foot. If thats the same surface as the real one, I can certainly see why people slip off it.

David confirmed it was wood, foam, a screen/net thing, and then painted over with brown. So it's kind of a cushiony surface, easy to land on.

I've starting putting plywood on the insides of my Spider Climb walls. Judging from the test I did earlier today, that should allow me to climb just fine.
Plus, as an added bonus, with the wood, it's just like David described it. Not slippery, but you have to apply force to stay put.
It's JUST like that.

Pretty sure there's a rule about not spamming, now.
Anyway, all the plywood is up and I can climb through with my hips "straight" (as opposed to turning them like a lot of people have to). I can only do this while going very slowly, but hey, that's why I built this.
Practice.

And David said he believes the actual course to be 4 feet wide, so I'm going to be training for that.

About 3.9 feet wide, yeah.
Mine is about 3.95 feet or something. I dunno. I measured it to be 3' 11", but the walls moved a little when I was securing them. So... I dunno.

I dunno. it be exact... 3'11 1/5" but i'd train on walls from 3 10" to 4 2" cuz they might make them closer due to the failures or make them farther apart cuz people actully passed it

No matter what, they've never changed the distance between the walls, I don't think. I'm pretty sure it's always been the same.
