Sato Jun and Yusuke Morimoto are the best Japanese competitors right now Mm. To say Sato is one of the best Japanese competitors is pushing it. A lot, in my opinion. His size and agility make him perfect for Stage 1, and allows him to pass Stage 2 with little trouble. However, Stage 3 is a different story. It's painfully obvious that his lack of grip strength make it very unlikely for him to ever clear Stage 3, let alone completing the whole course.

Sato Jun is the only Japanese competitor to clear the flying bar (32-Present)

Sato Jun is the only Japanese competitor to clear the flying bar (32-Present) That's because the bar was wet in 32 by the time the top Japanese competitors ran, and in 33, they added the chain. Morimoto has cleared the Flying Bar in USA vs. World twice, so the chain must've negatively affected his performance on it.

The Flying Bar in ANW is made of different material, it doesn't slide around like SASUKE's. Also, it wasn't a chain, it was a wire.

Given I mentioned competitor status solely as an addendum to the difficulty of the course, we can discuss top competitor status on its own as a separate topic not in here.
The picture at the end of Stage 1 is from this tournament, given the starting line in the background.

Apparently Nagano tried the pipe slider, and failed

Curious if it will be shown. Let me know guys. It was funny and strangely nostalgic. I won't spoil the reason unless they don't show it.

Someone asked if it would be shown in Navi which Inui actually responded to and the translation disaster (the mini-convo was in Japanese) implies it won't be shown there. Doesn't mean it can't be an easter egg of sorts for the main broadcast but just my random guess, would that mean it was filmed at night aka during taping and not something like Yamada with the CCH for 28 since it was a demonstration of sorts?

He said after it won't be part of any broadcast, it was just a demonstration of the obstacle and a present for the people at the taping.

Yeah it was just demo for the obstacle for the competitor run through. It'll still wait to see if it's even used for a commercial or something. I hope they do since I'm told it was funny/ironic/nostalgic.

Inui answering some tweets. Sounds like no obstacle changes in 1st or 2nd stage, but shortened time limits?
Also, something super-secret about numbers? This one didn't google translate well, but I'm guessing either mystery competitor or something to do with clears???

This one really doesn't translate well on Google, but it isn't anything that secretive. In better terms, it's basically: We cannot talk about the day this special episode is airing until the "Info Ban Date" set by TBS. Once the announcement date comes you'll hear all about it, but until then I cannot speak about this. Inui answering some tweets. Sounds like no obstacle changes in 1st or 2nd stage, but shortened time limits? To be more precise he says the only obstacle changed was the fishbone, where two more "bones" were added. But shortened time limits as well.

Quick runthrough of Stage 1 (nothing we don't already know, but we see some of the stylistic changes made).

The color scheme looks better in subdued lighting and not the beaming sun reflecting off the obstacles it's most prevalent
