Cus, why not? Lots of science-y stuff has been happening lately: - The March For Science
- Neil deGrasse Tyson came out with a viral video (I think it's viral.. now that I think about it, not sure what exactly the criteria is to be considered viral nowadays) that is basically his follow-up to the whole March For Science stuff
- Netflix just released Bill Nye Saves the World, which is basically Bill Nye the Science Guy for adults
- Everything that ever happens in the universe
I like how science is getting more "awareness" (or whatever you wanna call it) in pop culture and social media these days. But I still have mixed feelings on how it's being taught, how a lot of people misunderstand what the scientific process actually is, etc. What are yalls' thoughts?

So with the rise of CRISPR, what are your opinions on Genetic Engineering?
Personally, I'm all in favour

Biochemistry major here. Not a fan of Nye. I like Tyson though.
Bill Nye wants to know if your sex junk is so oh, oh, oh.

So with the rise of CRISPR, what are your opinions on Genetic Engineering? Personally, I'm all in favour So what are CRISPRs in layman's terms and why are they a big deal? (I'm too lazy to do the research myself, and the Wikipedia article on them is a bit over my head.) I'm generally for genetic engineering. We are GMOs, after all. Biochemistry major here. Not a fan of Nye. I like Tyson though. Bill Nye wants to know if your sex junk is so oh, oh, oh. I am a fan of both guys, but (and probably through no fault of their own) I feel their shows are a bit too dumbed-down for adults. Well, actually, I feel their shows are too dumbed-down for competent adults, and too offensive and confrontational for incompetent adults. With Nye in particular, it's like you either agree with him, or he straight up mocks and ridicules you. And as we all know that is no way to accomplish anything. But the man is just too funny and entertaining though, which is why I pay attention to him.

I feel that Bill Nye accepted the challenge of teaching those that have a hard time understanding science or with little to no education, and rolled with it. He's the guy that understands the science, and explains it in a manner that all can understand.
He's a mechanical engineer, so while he does know his science, he's not like Neil deGrasse Tyson, Carl Sagan, Michio Kaku, and others.

In a nutshell, it's a new way of genetic engineering, making it much cheaper and produces quicker results One application they want to do is breed mosquitoes that are immune to malaria parasites. This GM-mossies then breed with normal ones, making the offspring malaria resistant. If successful, this could eradicate malaria forever
