That rail runner was brutal but an incredible idea ... the fact that it rolls back was insane ... this was hardest city qualifier ...and the rail runner has got to be the 2nd hardest qualifying obstacle ever behind rolling thunder ..crank it up can take a backseat lol . TBH the hardest qualifier was Venice 2015. Denver 2017 is the second hardest then Philadelphia for third

But that was really the only tough obstacle. Philly had one of the most rediculous obstacles of all time that took out everyone but like 32 people, and then had rolling thunder to take everyone else out. Denver had a hard course, but the paddle boards were nerfed and the spider drop was easier then the wall drop.

The Bouncing Spider is a horrible obstacle. Truthfully it was one of the most fun obstacles I've ever done, hands down, although it would have been way cooler with a bigger gap into the wall and a euro tramp rather than a springboard that was super close. (Would never happen in a qualifier I know) Theres a big "X" marking on the tramp, had to take the time to spot the center as there is very little room for error. Watching so many of my favorite ninjas go out on this one broke my heart....

Bizarre choice digesting one of the few women to ever qualify for a city finals legitimately. First time they've ever done that I believe. I originally had no idea how the bar slider thing was possible, especially after seeing the first guy do it. Hardest 5th obstacle we've seen this season. Having known Jake Murray failed early, I kept cringing whenever Jake talked about "surprising everyone on the course" in the promos. As soon as I saw Brian take his third swing, I knew he was going to overshoot the jump. They need some sort of padding on those obstacles. So 18 finishers combined between Kansas City and Denver. Maybe they should combine the two regions again next year. Also, I LOVE SAM SANN!

TBH the hardest qualifier was Venice 2015. Was that the one with the Hourglass Drop? That was the only thing that made it difficult, the rest wasn't so hard, Kevin Bull stormed through it in less than 1'.
In its totality, I think Denver 2017 is the hardest ever. Philly 2016 has a case for #1 too, but that was mainly because of the Rolling Thunder.

The spoiling was just as bad as last week in Cleveland. Murray gets on the course and there's a timer showing Ball's time. But Ball already has Run Of The Night. What does that tell us? That he won't beat him. But Jake is going much faster, easily on pace for fastest time. So what does that tell us? That he'll fall. Once he jumped so quickly into the Spider I knew. But my guess was the Paddle Board. Also, women who finish usually get Run Of The Night. So that told me that Meagan wouldn't finish either. Just terrible. They should probably say who got the run of the night after everyone has run the course. Of course they should, but they're probably not smart enough to understand.
But honestly, what I'm most afraid of is the final episode of the season. Whether they hand out a Run of The Night on Stage 2, like last year with Drew, will tell a lot, if not everything.

Hit-and-miss episode. Some good new ninjas, and some surprising moments but a couple of dysfunctional/repetitive obstacles spoiled the results.
It was a bit disappointing that the family of seven completely wasted six entry-spots (failing the Bouncing Spider or previous obstacles), but I guess you can't hold that against them, the Ring Swing and Bouncing Spider are both fairly tricky-looking. Having said that, I think the Ring Swing has lost a bit of charm from last year. It seems longer this year, and for some reason people hook the rings much easier. The Paddle Boards axis should rotate freely in either direction but they seemed to be pretty limited on how far to one side they could tilt, meaning some could just take a few casual steps on one side. Interesting to see them back for a third year too.
The Bouncing Spider is an okay obstacle but it's certainly this year's Wall Drop. Toward the end of regionals we always seem to get one or two "thrown-together" obstacles. Happened in Pittsburgh two years ago, Philly last year and here this year so I think they should balance it better. LA and the Miami/Orlando/Atlanta/Daytona region never seem to get problematic obstacles, which shows a big problem in obstacle balance. Anyway, the jump to the wall and the small gap are both fine, but it's the three pendulums that pushes it over the edge. Have only big one and it'd have gone a lot better. For Finals, I think it'd be neat if they took away the pendulums and made it simply a jump from the trampoline onto the platform. They could move the trampoline closer as it might be too hard. This is just to mix things up between Qualifying and Semi-Finals, and some other obstacles could use little (or big, actually) modifications too.
The Rail Runner sounds like a balance obstacle, I like the Lightning Hopper better. The obstacle DOES seem impossible, but it evidently isn't. It needs to be made easier for Finals though, and the lache has to be made safer as well. Lower a beam of take out the beginning of the second track and it should be fine.
Also, for clarification: was the Rail Runner fan-created? Because the new obstacle for Finals is sponsored so can't see that being made by a fan. Know the eighth is The Wedge so can't be that.

Ninjago Roll is the fan-created obstacle, but I'm guessing its not the name the fan gave it. Rail Runner is 100% ATS.
And I agree with the Bouncing Spider issues. why not have a high wall at the end (padded of course) and then a bar towards the top, so you drop to the trampoline, leap up to the bar, and then throw your feet over the wall. The three (even two back in Philly was bad) wind chimes is just plain ugly.

So it seems the 7 fan-created obstacles are
Battering Ram Sky Hooks Wingnuts Crank It Up Iron Maiden Nail Clipper Ninjago Roll
I personally like all of these, but I think Sky Hooks and Ninjago Roll are the least interesting/creative.

Cons
A. They digest and cut veterans (AGAIN!) B. They cut out a finisher C. Spoiled that Meagan Martin and Jake Murray will fail due the POM "Spoiler" Run of the Night D. Didn't mentation that Dalton Knapp competed E. The New Obstacles Suck (Spider Drop and Rail Runner) F. Lightning Hopper is a better name than Rail Runner (It makes me think of a balance obstacle) G. Still no Paul Kasemir (Even after his Team Ninja Warrior performance)

Everyone is saying Lorin Ball getting POM was a spoiler that said Jake and Meagan would fail. I feel this is not the case since it could have simp;y meant Lorin had the fastest time. I think it is more of a spoiler when it goes to the last run of the night. I like the POM being awarded a little earlier.

TBH the POM Run of the Night should be revealed after everyone's run (That gets aired)

About the Ring Swing, must the competitors hook the first ring onto the first hook before moving on to the next ring?Or can they just skip over the first hooking and immediately grab the second ring?

If a lady clears, she gets the POM run of the night. If the POM run was given before the last, hyped up run, that run might not end well.
