Ah, sorry I'm so used to called all pre-Vegas "qualifying" so I just skimmed over that and assumed that it meant none of the events in Cleveland and Denver were covered even though that's not what it said. And yes I agree that the Nail Clipper will probably be featured. Phew, I've done a 180 on my attitude about the obstacle earlier🙄

Let's play a new game called "Who will get fast-forwarded, who will get cut?"
My guesses (not knowing results)
Fast forwarded:
James McGrath Jamie Rahn Michelle Warnky
Skipped
Mike Bernardo

I think they'll show Sean Noel because he does cool tricks at the Movement Lab that can be shown in the intro.
They'll probably skip Michelle, possibly Chris.
They'll show Joe and two of the Fantastic Four.

Michelle was shown. I have fond memories of her so to see her fail the rings surprised me. Course if anyone forgets why she especially resonates with me, it was the person I was speaking to when I was ambushed by a hugging Makoto Nagano at the APEX last March. Wish she did better... WELL! Our first finalist IS A FEMALE! Go go Alyssa Beird!

I like with Mike's run they mentioned the Japanese did this first. I needed to hear that. Also Pocono Ninja is now Barefoot ninja. But something like that reminds me of Shingo for obvious reasons... Also Jesse Labreck WILL clear because still no run of the night so far.

Wtf at digesting the fastest finisher of the night The irony, they were doing so good tonight, this was probably the best editing so far this season, then they go and pull that...

Good episode. They made a bad cut not showing Anthony DeFranco and his fastest time and I was sad they cut Sean because he coached me at the Movement Lab.
I just had a random thought as to why the Qualifiers in Cleveland and Denver had no Crashing the Course: neither course has a fan-designed obstacle in the qualifying portion, right? Maybe they're saving the coverage for when they have Obstacle Design Challenge winners to discuss.Don't see why this would be the case because in LA they did the CTC on the Cannonball Drop, not the Battering Ram (the fan-inspired obstacle), but it's the only real parallel I can draw.

I believe Alex wasn't in Cleveland and Denver for night 1, since he had a comedy show. I think it was as simple as that haha

I like with Mike's run they mentioned the Japanese did this first. I needed to hear that. Just curious what was said. I've been inspired by Mike and Strat who have diligently carried the Sasuke Spirit flag for years. ♥

"A tradition that started with the Japanese competitors from the origin show" or... something like that...

Highs: •That one guy with the painted beard XD •Dude who was the first run after the first commercial break was wearing jorts, lol •PJ (forgot last name, the guy who's friends with Matt Iseman) finally beat a log obstacle! •Allyssa Beird’s dating James McGrath? Whoa!!!! (Also James looks way different with a hat on lol) •Allyssa’s the first woman to be the first clear of the night! AND she was the first female clear of season 9!!!! • Beird and McGrath are the first couple to clear a course! Take that, Brent and Kacy circa 2014! •Lucio Batista looks like Waluigi, lol (Also since he's a superhero, I'm calling him Captain Waluigi) •CAPTAIN WALUIGI JUST SKIPPED 4 PEGS ON THE RING JUMP WHOA •NAJEE RICHARDSON JUST SKIPPED 4 PEGS TOO •Akbar saying “that's mah ninja” about Najee lol •Hooray, they didn't cut Mike Benardo like everyone thought! They gave him a fluff piece and everything!!!! •Ricky Stenhouse Jr. defeated his nemesis, the Rolling Log! •If my math is right, Joe Moravsky hit his 20th buzzer! •Jesse Labreck playing on an N64 during her fluff piece! I'm gonna assume she was playing Mario 64. •JESSE SKIPPED 4 PEGS TOO •Jesse being the second woman of the night AND the season to hit a buzzer!!!! •Another couple clear from Jesse Labreck and Chris DiGangi! Take that again, Brent and Kacy circa 2014! Lows: •The new rule for women totally negates the accomplishments of the Fantastic Four. •MY GOD, THE ROLLING LOG IS UGLYYYY •First dude that ran, why'd you dismount the Ring Jump with such little momentum? • Fitting that James McGrath went right after Allyssa Beird, but he was sadly mid-cut. •Kinda bummed that Najee didn't throw his arms over the wall again •When they were teasing Mike Benardo and they showed him on the Super Salmon Ladder, it said “2017 All-Star special.” They footage was from the first All-Star special, back in 2016 (technically 2015). Kacy Count: 0 Jessie Count: 0 Fluff Piece Count: 12 Digested: •Melody Schofield (was on Team Ninja Warrior) •Amy Pajic (I know there's two c’s in her name, where does the first one go?) •Rachel Goldstein •Jon Alexis Jr. •Jamie Rahn •Mike Myers •Michael Torres •Chris Warnky •Anthony Defranco (fastest time) Cut: •Sean Noel (3rd fastest time) •Dan Galiczynski (4th fastest time) •Judas Licciardelo (7th fastest time) •Tyler Cravens (13th fastest time)

And I thought I was the only one who saw Lucio Batista as Waluigi! Sheesh we seem to share the same thoughts.
