SASUKE 33 brought a lot of surprise failures from notable competitors, some of which were heartbreaking to watch. That being said, which one of these failures was the worst one for you?
I personally have to go with Kenji Darvish because of how ridiculously close he was to clearing (and with a good chunk of time left), especially when considering how dedicated he's become to SASUKE. In fact, I'll go as far to say that it was the most tragic celebrity failure on SASUKE aside from Kane's Final Stage run in 8.

In terms of 1st stage to me probably Ryo because in the bigger picture he had a chance of cracking the monstrous stage 3. Shinya is another it's frustrating when they go out on something so simple or early when you know the latter stages they will body it.
Stage 3 Morimoto I wanted to see him on the Ucch vlk combo!

Darvish was definitely the most dramatic fail, I straight up gasped when that happened.
I should have been crushed by the Shingo Flop, given how Takeda cleared right in front of him and they played The Chickens are Revolting and got my hopes up. But I was kinda expecting it, so it wasn't a crusher like his Mega Derp in 31. (I just want him to make Stage 3 one more time, don't care if he flops right off the drum hopper, just let him fulfil the potential he showed in 29 and 30)
Tomohiro was disappointing, he was my bet for a UCCH clear, so his rush fail hit me hard.
Kong's was also quite sad, but we weren't really given any time to process it, what with the mass slaughter at that point.
And Takeda dropping off the salmon ladder was tight too, because he HAD IT. That was the most devastating fail actually, although Hioki and Mori on the conveyor were painful to watch.

I agree, I can't believe Darvish failed where he did. But at the same time, I'm just as shocked in terms of where Yuuji failed as well.

I'm going to have to go with Darvish Kenji, like a lot of the surprise fails hurt but at the same time then you have Darvish, at that point everyone was already celebrating his clear, and the one thing that could possibly go wrong does

Probably Yuuji for me. Never thought he'd fall victim to the course so soon.

I would go with Darvish.Because he almost cleared and slipped.

Wreathman. And then Darvish, Yuuji and Kong. Let's hope they clear the course next competition.

Darvish's, he was so close and people started to celebrate but then fell for some reason. What makes it worse is that he's became dedicated to the show and really wants to do well and that he's failed it before

Darvish got my vote. He was already at the top with herds of time left, so it made sense he was going to clear, but then he fell off suddenly, which would be the worst thing to happen at the time. And he was so p'ssed about it later, because he wanted to go far.

I would go for Takeda. He reassured us that he will never fail the First Stage twice in a row (no more than that for the past 17 years he's on SASUKE) I like how everytime he gets to the last obstacle he'll always have that cheeky smile and it's sad that he practically cleared the Salmon Ladder Kudari. Probarly the readjust he made at the last rung of the Salmon Ladder Nobori tired him so that's why he lost his grip.

I'm proud of Takeda for being humble enough to keep his Salmon Ladder streak going. But I was actually pretty gutted when he suddenly fell from it. I don't think this tournament had any devestating failures. I didn't really know how to react to Yamada's- I couldn't tell if he was in tears about failing or about just being a competitor again or...something. I was gutted by Darvish's fail in 30, but not really this time. As he was climbing up I had a flashback to when he fell off it in 30...and then he fell. I think I was most disappointed in Drew's failure, but I saw it coming since he looked off from the moment he started the UCCH. To see him attempt the UCCH-VL transition again would have been nice.

Yuuji because I so badly want to see him on stage 3 again. Would be the same for Ryo if it wasn't fast forwarded, so it was a bit less emotional/shocking.
Could not possibly care less about Darvish.

I did not expect Ryo to fail the Fishbone. He's never really been taken out by "silly" obstacles like that before, so that was unexpected.

Yuuji on Rolling Hill. He never goes out that early, and I guess, seems like he rushed and landed in a bad spot.

Darvish I guess? ? The course was sucking his a** up till the lunmberjack climb. I did not expect Ryo to fail the Fishbone. He's never really been taken out by "silly" obstacles like that before, so that was unexpected. He had a "shocking" exit on the warped wall a couple of tourneys ago... so not all that surprising.

Anastase (Wreath Man) was very surprising, given his habit of annihilating the first stage. Yuuji and Darvish were also quite startling.

Merged the two similar threads regarding shocking failures.
