OK I know this might open a can of worms, but my workout routine use to consist of salmon ladder, cliff hanger, etc. Basically obstacles. Then I would do regular muscle related workouts after. Now I have been working out for ninja warrior since 2010-11ish, and within the past year my body kinda hurts when I would get on obstacles. I'm only 23 years old and that should not be happening. I was a firm believer that working out on obstacles make you stronger. And I still believe they do to a certain degree. But your body pays the price. Obstacles like the Cliffhanger and salmon ladder are very rough on your body to do every day. Something had to change.
So I swapped up my workouts. Now I do my muscle related workouts for 1 or 2 days. On the 2ND or 3Rd I do obstacles. Then maybe the 4th day rest or start the routine back over. I have been doing this for a month now and can tell a major difference. When I get on the salmon ladder, my joints do not hurt and I'm stronger.
I know this is probably basic knowledge to some.of you, but if you have trained like I have for years or are new to training I would take this into account. I know someone on here a couple of years ago wrote a very excellent article on working out and I see where working out on obstacles everyday does not do the trick.

My routine is just running around on obstacles for an hour each day in my backyard lol. There are definitely stints where I am achy, sore, and my joints crack for an extended period of time, usually a couple weeks at a time or so. It comes and goes so idk.

Yeah and I think some obstacles are okay to do every day if you please. but I know for me the jarring on the salmon ladder take a toll on your body

Yep can be painful and sometimes just messes up my hands for days/weeks. My main thing is not being able to hold my hand out straight anymore because of all the grip exercises Anyone know that?

I have never really had that trouble. Maybe try a different workout to see if that helps. Youtube is full of different muscle related workouts.
