Yuuji was unlucky on Stage 2, didn't have to go for lever, fell because weren't SASUKE approved ropes! 3rd stage just mistimed jump but is hard off s treadmill. Also this course is s lot nicer to taller people, hence why I don't think any Japanese made it to a Stage 4 Japan did really while on stage 1 better than the Americans on average. The issue was stage 2 that first platform jump ups caused quite a few of them issues with jump gaps getting to 8' and the treadmill gave a lot of them problems as while. The height factor once again played a part on this course just like the ANW course when they competed in ANW world.

The Wikipedia page has complete results and obstacles. I haven't watched yet, so I have no idea how accurate this is, especially since, you know, Wikipedia.

I briefly skimmed it compared to the database of results I made, and it seems pretty much spot on (having pop up scores with lots of details within the episode makes it really easy to do!) Stats post gonna be up right away here!

Average Competitor Performance, scaled over all episodes S. Korea: 8.6th Place Germany: 9.0th Place Brazil: 9.5th Place USA: 9.6th Place Mexico: 10.1th Place Japan: 11.7th Place
Average Final Score, Stages 1-3, Qualifiers: S. Korea: 121pts Germany 118pts USA: 106pts Mexico 101pts Brazil: 96pts Japan: 69pts
Worst Overall Performance: Isaiah Stanback, USA, 10pt fail on Mother Tongue Best Overall Performance: Heeyong Park: 2 Level 1 Clears, 2 Level 3 Clears, 2 Final Stage Appearances
Level 1: 8 Clears by 3 competitors Level 2: 1 Clear Level 3: 3 Clears by 2 competitors Level 4: 1 Clear
Level 1 Fail Distribution (out of 117): Energy Coils: 38 Mag Wall: 33 Face Plant: 24 Mother Tongue: 8 Throat Erosion: 5 Brain Matter: 1

Level 3 Fail Distribution (out of 48): Ejector: 18 Bungee: 8 Coil Crawl: 6 Extractor: 6 (with 0 clears!!!) Trapeze: 2 Weapon: 2 Prism: 1
Surprising obstacles vs. Countries facts: Most countries had the most Energy Coil Fails, with Mag Wall and Faceplant next but: - Brazil had very very low energy coil fails, with high Mag wall fails - USA had almost no Faceplant fails - S. Korea had no competitors fall prior to faceplant - USA was the only team to fail Brain Matter - USA & Germany were the only teams to have no clears of any stage - No Brazillians passed the Dreadmills - No competitor came close to completing The Extractor
Qualifiers, Level 1: S. Korea: 830 Germany: 780 Brazil, Japan: 680 Mexico: 650 USA: 640
Qualifiers, Level 2: S. Korea: 900 Germany: 840 Brazil, Mexico: 760 USA: 730 Japan: 520
Qualifiers, Level 3: USA: 530 Germany: 510 S. Korea: 450 Mexico: 410 Brazil: 290 Japan: 50

If there is a Season 3, hopefully they'll be back. And hopefully some of them will compete in future SASUKE tournaments! (If that happens.)

Yep Japan got last. Man that's becoming a bit of a staple around US based events... dang body types. However super glad Yuuji sported a clear showing they aren't totally flukes!

Just found out that one of the Japanese commentator is a former AKB member. Wonder how she worked there...

Just found out that one of the Japanese commentator is a former AKB member. Wonder how she worked there... I watched the season in Japan and really liked the announcers here. They were respectful of the course and competitors while throwing shade at the other announcers. Both were great! Results wise (to get back on topic), it was disappointing how many Japanese competitors failed on stage 2 and start of stage 3 but hopefully now that they know what kind of obstacles are on offer, they can train for them.

Sounds cool. Really wish Netflix didnt do that proxy thing where a lot of them get caught, because some networks who gave them shows, wanted the block now. Because I want to view this one the most, and I think only the Brazil ones been around on Dailymotion. Really want to see Japan or South Koreas.

I'm fascinated by bringing in new teams next season, but I also worry it'll eliminate the fun of seeing competitors compete again.

Something I was slightly confused about:
At the end, the American broadcast mentioned that the winner just received $25,000, so did they reduce the prize because they had to go to a tiebreaker? That's a little annoying.

They reduced it because they didn't get to the top.

That's a little annoying. After hooting and hollering about the ultimate winner getting 50K, when the final two started the climb they said the first to the top would win 50K, but if neither did within the time limit then whoever made it the furthest would win 25K, hence what happened. I hate the rule, especially after hyping a prize all season and then state the actual rules WHEN THE FINAL CLIMB IS HAPPENING!!!!!!

Can skew the resulting averages some gavv

First off, the show overall is a "C" average rating, and for it to be its first start, that's still good in my book. Was just watching a little discussion about the show and he pretty much said almost everything that I could say for how it'll have its moments that will drag and at times, feels unfair for its difficulty being skewed in certain parts. The main gripe is going to be in the final level where you'd have to be a climber to really get far on the tower.
All in all, solid first season and hope to see some good changes to fix the difficulty overall, along with a little more variety of obstacles if possible.

Just finished it. Enjoyed it. Loved the announce teams from other countries. Less energy from them would have made a less entertaining show.
Surprised I haven't seen anyone in here mention Brandon Douglas. He was a boot camp era ANW competitor and I'm pretty sure he was at one if he boot camps before elimination.

Just finished watching it like 5 minutes ago. I really did enjoy it even though the american hosts were really annoying to watch Felipe Camargo did touch the ground on Bungee Beds which means he shouldn't have won imo. That's also one thing that annoys me

Watched the finale last night. Definitely was not surprised by the final two/winner.
The run pacing was pretty great compared to ANW, but it was pretty dumb how some obstacles were edited out if no one failed them. It was also SUPER dumb that they hid the final prize until the very last possible moment.
It seems that we share the sentiment about Charissa and Terry being annoying. Ironically I liked the international commentators although perhaps people in those countries found their commentators to be annoying.
Certainly, some changes need to be made in Season 2, but I'll be watching.
EDIT: Another thing that bugged me in regards to the commentary/editing was how much post-record commentary they had to do because of their fiddling with the results. For instance, in the finale they were like "So after level 1 we go down to 6 competitors, and uh... the last one standing wins" because they didn't want to give away Air Force guy getting injured and eliminated. In their egregious efforts to not confuse viewers, they further confused viewers.

I know Season 2 has already filmed, but I'd like more balanced difficulty. They tried something like that, but some obstacles or paths just seemed OP. I wasn't in love with final tower. I love it was climber v climber but if it wasn't, it wouldn't nearly be as exciting. I like races to the finish, not who gets stuck first.
