This is a slight aside/tease related to Kunoichi, but Sasuke Indonesia teased a version of the sponge bridge for their season 2 last night. After the mayhem it caused in K9, it'll be interesting to see how it works in Sasuke, especially on an earlier stage. http://instagr.am/p/BQZ4wK1j3Bu As for K9, I really like the course style, the packing peanuts look kinda fun to fall into to be honest. Here's hoping to a Summer or Fall K10! Excuse you. Sasuke Ninja Warrior Indonesia.

I just finished KUNOICHI 9, and overall I was very pleased with it! I have pretty much the same thoughts as everyone else here: the broadcast had a good flow, great editing, reasonable obstacle choices and placements (aside from the X-Bridge ), and fairly nice results (i.e. we got to see a proper amount of attempts at each stage). The few things I nitpicked were things I felt would have been very difficult for the production team to address upon a reboot, and as a result shouldn't be blamed. For example, it was probably hard to account for how difficult the new course should be, due to it being years since the last KUNOICHI and being tough to assess the current level of ability of female competitors. It was also a bit odd not having as much as an emotional investment in many of the competitors due to general lack of unfamiliarity. It's comparable to when people watched SASUKE or KUNOICHI 1 tournament for the first time, without having prior knowledge of any competitors---however, with more tournaments you begin to have their stories and personalities grow on you, which leads to more engagement and emotional interest in the show. As I said before though, this isn't something you can do in a single broadcast with so many new faces, and (in my opinion) is necessary for the show's growth. That being said, after KUNOICHI 9 I am excited to see it re-build itself after a long hiatus, and look forward to future competitions!

Yeah, that was a fun time.
Hated the second obstacle in the first stage, so clearly designed to put women in compromising camera angles. Some weirdness as a whole with that first stage - the fishbone was brutal, followed by the floating tiles that were huge and pretty easy to skip across. Agreed that should have been put earlier.
Overall though, a fun time. I'd much rather just have more female competitors in Sasuke, but in the meantime I'm cool with this.

Really enjoyed this tournament. I wish that it was 4 stages but oh well.

Very good tournament! All I can say is that Inui is a sly bastard for the "boob cam" on the spinning log Also X-bridge was a disappointment unfortunately, but hey I really liked the red stage besides that. Blue stage has potential, that ring obstacle is pretty cool and even though we only saw 2 runs on it, good start to the stage! Sponge Bridge/Domino Hill is always tough, personally I'd put the cliffhanger before the sponge bridge. Final stage is awesome, perfect setup, love the rope instead of a pole too! Just a quality production, nice to see it back after so long, and for it to be really entertaining is a great bonus.

Just watched Kunoichi 9. My thoughts on it.
Red stage To many rules! I don't like how they were forced to do the obstacles a specific way. Now let me comment on the obstacles. Rolling hill- The gaps were to small and they should have been allowed to do it the way its done on sasuke. Log slide- STUPIDEST OBSTACLE OF ALL TIME! It had one reason for being there and it was to get breast shots of the competitors. It was obvious due to the rule that they could not run across it. It needs to go for ever! Fish bone- Best obstacle. Took out a lot of people and was fair. I am glad it will be in sasuke. X bridge- WTH was that? easiest by far. Jump hang- It was good but they should have made the net tighter and allowed them to climb over. Warped wall- It was good. Ball thing- Interesting.
Stage blue- 50/50 was okay but needs time limit.
Final stage is great.

I can't understate just how much I love the stage clear music. Is it original? Or is it from something?

Just finished watching K9, here are my thoughts:
OVERALL
-Good variety of competitors... -However, I pretty much didn't know anyone numbers 1-39. -AMAZING visuals!
RED STAGE
-Rolling Hill was TOO close to the mats. -Pipe Hold was stupid, really only meant for boob shots. -I really like the Fish Bone, and I'm glad a more difficult version will show up in SSK33. -X-Bridge was AWFUL!
BLUE STAGE
-I really like the concept of the Slide Walk. -Spider Walk was too easy. -Slant Edge was just a less crappy version of the Narrow. -Sponge Bridge was eye-catching and colorful. -Those Cliffhanger ledges were TOO wide! They look even wider than ANW's ledges! I know it was meant to be dumbed down a little, but not by this much! -No time limit
FINAL STAGE
-I'm glad they replaced that stupid pole with a rope. -I've always hated the ladders.

Oh and some lil behind the scenes info from friends who were in the audience at the taping: -They were told they could not jump from the top of Rolling Hill -They were not allowed to try to run across the Pipe Hold -Every time someone grabbed one of the poles on the Fishbone they would stop filming to check everything for safety and reiterated "Do not grab the poles!" -One girl clung onto a pole to try to stop herself falling and went almost all the way upside down. This wasn't shown in the broadcast but friend wasn't surprised as they had to emergency stop the Fishbone (and yell at everyone again to not grab the poles!) -People in the audience were pretty convinced at one point that nobody would pass and were thinking the time limit was impossible (then were later proved very wrong lol) -Some of the competitors went to hang out in the audience afterwards -The stunt woman from Taiwan who had both her runs digested was apparently a lovely person and they were mad she wasn't shown. -Despite being indoors, it was freezing, which (other than logistics of creating pools) might explain why there wasn't much water. So that is why the Fishbone and X-bridge had pools of white stuff. I think it is polystirenie.

Oh look, it's the cliff-hanger from ANW!
Also, tourney had lots of "totally not breast and butt cameras".
Yuko Mizuno was a nice surprise to see back. Izumi was a surprise as I'd seen that viral CC Lemon commercial in the past. Nice that they showed a lot of people but I wish the editing was a bit tighter at the start. We spent so much time on the first half of the Red stage that we blitzed through the final 10 (including 1 digested clear) and then Blue stage and final stage were basically after thoughts.

Some surprisingly tough obstacles. Happy to see a women's competition with real athleticism.
Also, great lighting/set design.

Just caught this over the weekend, I'm with many of you here, production values were fantastic, but the "boob cam" on the log was embarassing. I do hope they renew and increase the number of competitors, but the spirit/comradery between the 50 was wonderful as always :-)
