I'd call this the hardest overall Stage 1 since 19. There have been individual obstacles in other tournaments that were ruthless but from a start to end standpoint, even getting double digit clears would be a surprise. Every obstacle up to the Tackle are killers. Now I'm worried

I don't think it will be that bad. There's definitely like five guys who already cleared by the time we get into the 80s. Look at the censor mishaps carefully. Plus we see no-names taking on the double pendulum and warped wall in the VR vids.
I think we'll see more clears than last time, but not by much.

No wonder the run time is 2.5 hours I keep saying this over and over.. The run time is determined BEFORE THE TOURNAMENT EVEN TAPES... Stop looking at the run time to determine results.

NBC at least we know what the run time is before any regionals start. I think the confusion for Sasuke always goes because of the varying run times of the Monster 9 vs. Rising eras. They have been all over the place. Hell M9 times ran from 2 hours to 6 hours.. LOL Though even with all of those.. both stations and every station around the world operates the same way: They tell the editors what the runtime will be before taping starts. This is all determined well before as they are planning to greenlight the project in the first place. Conversation kinda goes "okay we have a 2-3 hour slot for your program. Do you have funding, etc. for it? Okay.. here's your slot and take that to your production crew. Let us know if anything changes". Just like now where they got slots for 34 and Kunoichi. They know how long (approximately) the runtimes are for BOTH of those tournaments months in advance. TBF that is asked way too many times to know if it is meant in jest or not. Figured I try to head it off at the pass.

Not a single clear digested. All runs in Stages 2-4 shown in full. Stark cry from the "best Japanese competitor? full digest for you!" days of today.

I wouldn't even say "Pre-Shin Sasuke" considering 20 was the start of the long broadcasts, 3rd tournament of the era, but problem is around here most people's first lives were 21 or later so at that point people grew used to the bloated M9 runtimes lol

Ιf I can tell something out of this, I guess that Asa and Hioki will fare the best out of the Japanese competitors, while Takeru and Mori will clear Stage 1 possibly (?). All the other names are to be expected in this list. No Kawaguchi, Yuuji, Ryo, Kanno, Shun or Sato so I guess this tournament will not go well for them. Only time will tell. I'm really pumped nonetheless.

I doubt they would prioritize this list based on results either.

I'm more curious on why some of the competitors on the 'Players' page did not take the photo in front of the usual spot

I forgot it was on but I didn't try to Google around and see what was up with it. Doesn't appear to be anything relevant in terms of any new clips, the segment was based around the four celebs competing (Kenji Darvish, Yutaka Kyan, Ryoichi Tsukada and newbie Hikaru Iwamoto who is a Johnny's Jr. trainee). Darvish, Yutaka and Tsukada are looking for revenge from last year's failures and they discussed Hikaru's chances. They then showed their abs to see whose were the best defined. Darvish objectively has the best definition. Tsukada's and Hikaru's are fairly defined. Yutaka's are barely visible. There was a brief montage of fails but from what I was able to see before the video cut there was nothing new.
If there was anything more specific than that, I haven't come across it but I have only checked for 10 minutes or so just to see who posted early.

Navi live may be happening here (11pm my time), but probably can't pull an all nighter like my college days. Enjoy everyone!
