And sorry to be offensive Arsenette but spending 10 years tracking down footage of a TV gameshow seems like dedication bordering on the O word. Well if I understand correctly that word usually implies a lack of social skills as a result of being a hardcore fan of something. I don't speak Japanese so can only look at context clues but it really doesn't seem like Morimoto fits that category. Additionally, given that he has not only taken active participation in Sasuke but also is probably one of the best in the world at it, I wouldn't really call him a fan anymore. However, someone who does not actively participate in Sasuke and does obsess over particular tapings of it on an online message board I would maybe label with the O word. I would also use that label on the guy who points this out. As you were.

But aren't jet broadcasts edited differently to the TBS ones? The JET broadcasts main difference to the TBS broadcast are the subtitles and the fact they were broadcast in two parts instead of one big broadcast, the recordings we have combine both parts making the difference completely irrelevant. As far as I know the only time JET has had a different edit is when they edited Charles Chen into the 17 broadcast since he was a celebrity representative from the Taiwan trials (that we know as the ones where Lee got started) Also I hate to break it to everyone but Otaku has a very different connotation in Japan compared to where it's used outside of Japan, outside of Japan it's usually used to refer to big fans of Japanese media types (mainly Anime and Manga), but in Japan it's more referring to the anti-social loser types with little to no grip on reality... So yes, Morimoto has very logical reason to be angry at you guys for using that term to describe him. You might want to look up cultural differences in terms before using them

Considering I had to delete a few posts, can we please showcase we have basic comprehension of our circumstances? There's making subtle references to direct people to particular places and there's giving explicit details, even giving the uploader. Come on, now. And there are definitely people who have seen pre-12 tournaments via JET broadcast. That's just a completely wrong statement. But aren't jet broadcasts edited differently to the TBS ones? And sorry to be offensive Arsenette but spending 10 years tracking down footage of a TV gameshow seems like dedication bordering on the O word. Just checked out my records, and there were a few subtle adjustments for timing in the JET versions, but typically they didn't differ by more than 3-5 minutes of actual event footage. The main difference is the subtitles and video frame/sidebar. And even then, most of the cuts were competitor interactions and non-run stuff, and the sections where the sponsor names appear over part of a run. so the expereince overall was only subtly changed. No huge changes like G4. There are a few seasons I have seen both JET and TBS and honestly I couldnt really notice any difference in terms of content, but I know it exists due to length differences. And No. Western culture has a habit of using Otaku totally wrong. Otaku is when someone is so dedicated that it leans towards a mental block and leads to inhibited personal, lifestyle and social functioning. Morimoto is a grad student, an engineer, and a member of clubs. He is successful, popular and social, and therefore by definition is NOT an Otaku. In Japan it is actually considered an offensive term more akin to being a loser/someone whose interests make them cripplingly socially awkward, and it is COMPLETELY different from being passionate or a fanboy about something. EDIT: whoops, somehow missed the last couple posts since they appeared on a new page, didn't mean to rehash some of the same stuff.

Okay so this will be shown on March 26 and it's only 2 hours. That's interesting. Hopefully no really good competitors get cut. I'm still very excited for this and can't wait! Does anyone know when the results will be posted? Yeah when the f***ing show airs Jesus Chirst man, I'm not asking for spoilers. I was just wondering how long it would take. I'm just a huge fan and can't wait to find out.

If it's rumored to be on 26th.. I believe you answered your own question. We find out when it airs. As of now they have not announced it and won't until the 2 week window.

There was a post on I believe the 6th where Inui (if the translation is right) insinuated the air date will be announced 12 days from then. Which would be the 18th, still within the two week window.
EDIT: considering the time there, he could have just meant the 12th

2 things. 1. Seems Takeda's workplace was correct as I suspected! and 2. I only just noticed your tagline is representing Shingo... How sweet! Also Woo that's in about 2 weeks from now!

YAY excited!
Also got a good laugh from Instagram's poor translation of Inui's announcement post:
"The 20th Anniversary of the 20th Anniversary of the 26th Anniversary of the 18:30th Anniversary of #SASUKE2017"

Everyone now. please sit down with your head down, fingers crossed and say "please be longer than two hours, please be longer than two hours, please be longer than two hours, please be longer than two hours" On Twitter, Inui was talking with someone about length, and unless I misunderstood their chat, it looks like it about 2:30 long. Which, isn't actually a bad length at all imo. But at any rate, as per TBS broadcasts policies, the broadcast schedule for the 26th will be posted at lastest on the 19th, so we should know within a week

Acceptable, not the first time a Rising era tournament was under three hours (29) but still the shortest. To think there were concerns 32's length felt short.

I guess once we subtract adverts that''ll work out at about 2 hours of actual competition? Probably not that bad of a duration really, considering that the Fishbone and the rest-less third stage are probably going to cause various forms of calamity.
