There's only 3 days left before the selected 100 athletes to compete will be named.

Being 5am on the 31st JST time, do we have any news from this? Anyone on here watch? I missed it but it's there for 6-7 days on time skip if someone has Nico Nico premium (which I do not). I got a small report on the news of the stream (I STILL don't have a copy - just a bullet point synopsis). I ended up reporting on it on the Final Stage Podcast which comes out on Friday. So tune in to that!

Well, I didn't end up applying, but I really wish everyone who did the best of luck! It'd be awesome to see you give it a shot Bada, I think you'd have a much better chance of getting far than me anyhow.

Hah, well I'm glad someone has confidence in me After training with some guys here and finally trying some stage 1 obstacles I've never attempted before, I both have more and less confidence than previously. The stage 1 stuff was way harder than I ever gave it credit for, but now I have confirmation that I can complete all of the staple obstacles. Warped wall is suuuuuuper intimidating when you actually try it. I thought that'd be one of the easiest things for me granted my height and strong legs, but it's so much of a mental barrier. Learned just how pathetic my upper body has gotten though. Not like even at my peak I had any chance of ever clearing stage 3, but now I'd just look silly if I got that far. Even the Salmon Ladder I'm only able to do with enough adrenaline. Wonder when we'll start finding out results on who made it to tryouts.

Yeah it's always interesting to see where you stack up. With TBS moving towards making the course a little harder to try to compete with ANW I'd say expect worse stuff (especially past Stage 1). Also remember it's going to be cold so that adds a layer to it. Application closes in just over 20 hours from now. Historically the call backs for Osaka go out first and Inui does a tweet about that. Then approximately a week later the Tokyo people get call backs. I would say a couple weeks easy before you hear anything. Pay close attention to Twitter as they have been using that of late to get news out quickly. Also, this is awesome.. seems my prediction of it going to be VERY soon is turning true. They are starting to dig and they start construction in 4 days!

So I'm trying to apply now Is it true that if I submit it in english I'm basically doomed? I am worried about putting my answers through google translate because I am trying to tell my story about Crohn's and how I see parallels between running and SASUKE but I don't want it to turn into a translation disaster. On the other hand, I don't want it to just get thrown out on the off chance they like would like my story enough to give me an audition. :/

Besides, it's authentic that way and they know where you are coming from. The worst that happens regardless if it's in Japanese or not is that they toss it aside. You don't lose anything writing out an online application form. I'm sure he will be happy to read it and given that it is in written form he can always throw it through a translation. If it really perks his attention he will at least contact you about it or refer it to whoever is part of the committee. That's how everyone else has been chosen. So long as you don't lie where you are from and who you are to get a spot then everything else is fine. Good luck!

So SASUKE 33 is close at hand? The construction is true! I checked the map! So exciting! They start digging in 4 days (Seems the picture is a Google image from last year that somehow caught it after digging and before full construction. I think the picture is AMAZING). Remember in order: - Both applications close
- Kunoichi call outs FIRST
- Sasuke call outs
- Kunoichi tapes (different location from Midoriyama)
- Sasuke tapes (Midoriyama)

weird. I don't get why my map is acting like it's starting now. But still we could very well have SASUKE in like... March!

I might as well try. Now the waiting begins

weird. I don't get why my map is acting like it's starting now. But still we could very well have SASUKE in like... March! I've mentioned it a few times already but no one seems to listen.. LOL They announced it to be a "Winter" season. That means it airs before March 20 (The first day of spring). If Inui is editing it alone like he has for all of Rising, then that is between 4-6 weeks between taping and airing. That is IF the same system is in place. Still, "Winter" Sasuke is significant which means it's taping fairly soon. Application closes and they already posted IN the application that Kunoichi call outs are in "early" January and Osaka/Tokyo auditions for Sasuke are "Mid" January. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to do the math when Sasuke is purported to tape. Besides.. Inui already said they break ground in 4 days. As for Google maps.. those are updated every few years - some areas never at all. The fact that the Japan mobile ap has the updated one still shows Sasuke's digging section makes that photo from early May, 2016.

I am all for Marchsuke lol.
Didn't end up submitting an application, as I don't have the money right now to fly to Japan for auditions given I was chosen for one. I am saving money for my trip to San Francisco in March.
If a March Sasuke means 34 being in like October or something, I'll probably apply.

Applications are now closed! Unusual but they actually announced the dates of the Osaka and Tokyo Auditions ahead of time!
Osaka is up first and that is Saturday, January 14. Tokyo is last and that is Sunday, January 22.
Calls start on Tuesday! Remember they do Kunoichi calls out first since taping for that is very soon.

Speaking of Kunoichi taping, do we know where it's going to be yet? There's a thread for that question and that's not public. In fact most Kunoichi stuff has always been private.
