From the teaser: The return of warriors! Sasuke Vietnam Season 3 at 8pm every week starting 6/22 Also first time they've had a stage 1 time limit It's not much of a time limit though as only 2 of the 86 who cleared stage 1 last year took longer than 100 seconds. Both of them were on the 1A (right) course which on average took longer to complete than the left course. Since the vast majority of people who cleared would have had plenty of time to spare, it may have just been added to speed up filming. the time limit should have been 85s for 1A and 70s for 1B lol

Back in April, they posted a downloadable spreadsheet on the site. It listed all the Vietnamese competitors who tried out at each region. The interesting thing is that they included the results of their qualifying/fitness tests. Some of the highlights seem random, but most were late additions because there were two versions of the spreadsheet and this is the latest version. In the South region, you'll notice 5 near the bottom with parentheses by their names indicating we'll see at least 3 women plus 2 of the oldest competitors on the show. I don't know enough Vietnamese names to be able to identify any women who qualified within the cutoffs. At least 553 tried out, with at least 232 moving on to the show. South overall had the best results. Important to note the North region was done in wet conditions with some rain. You can find photos and videos on the Facebook page. The cutoff for each region seems arbitrary. I feel kind of bad for those who were just below the cutoffs. --- As a reference for next year, there are 4 tests worth up to 10 points each, for a theoretical max of 40 points. One minute per test - 40 pull-ups, 60 push-ups, 40 tire flips (60kg), 100m (25m x 4) sprint in 20.4 seconds. Looking at the results, nobody got 40 points. It seems push-ups and sprint are the only ones possible to max. 40 tire flips seems impossible. Nobody even got 30. There was one with 29 and one with 28. Only a handful did at least 30 pull-ups, with one getting 35. I don't see anyone ever getting or attempting 40, unless you're Tazio. I wonder if there will be some strategy involved in the future. Obviously playing the numbers game would be very risky, but for example, if you did 20 pull-ups, leaving energy to max out 60 push-ups, followed by 20 tire flips, leaving enough to max out the sprint, you would have 30 points, which puts you near the top, or at the very least the top half. --- Anyone who was there, or knows more, correct me if I'm wrong. Based on the applications, it seems the International competitors were required to do these fitness tests this year. It's a bummer that you'd be spending roughly $1,500+ to potentially be there for two weeks and not be able to compete, but it makes sense given how much the show is growing. This is still the only show with an actual qualifying process for international applicants. I just hope the cutoff is reasonable and flexible.

If you want to watch the full episode, you can find it here. It cuts off 1:07 from the beginning which recaps season 1 (600 tried out and nearly 340 participated in Stage 1) and 1:48 from the end which is just the credits.

I've been checking the non-GO stream for a while and it keeps pointing to an empty page for the show. If anyone's having trouble navigating the site - Click the date to T5 (Thursday) and scroll down to 20:30. EDIT - found the stream page for the first episode - vtvgo.vn/video/khong-gioi-han-sasuke-viet-nam-22-06-2017-1135131.html

I think a lot of people are going to struggle with the spider wall in Stage 1 because that's the same obstacle used in all seasons (except the first 3) of ANW.

Since the producers forget to turn on the klaxon sounds for some competitors, 3 competitors whose time are out are "wild-carded" to stage 2. And according to many comments on Facebook, the producers also forget to turn on the klaxon sounds for about 20-30 competitors, and that is why many competitors celebrate when they clear the stage even though their time are out.

Well this is their first time at a timed-first stage so... unacceptable xD (with that wildcards)

I'm watching SASUKE Vietnam S03E07 now. There is no time limit in Stage 2 (and the challengers can rest at most 1 minute between obstacles), and they use Swap-Salmon Ladder rules for normal Salmon Ladder use the last year rules for the Salmon Ladder (you can skip the last rungs of the Salmon Ladder , and if you do something like Urushihara Yuuji in SASUKE 25, you will be disqualified). The HPA has a really small wooden landing platform (similar to SASUKE 27's HPA), so I hope no one will get injuries in this obstacles . This year Warped Walls are lower. According to the announcer, the second Warped Wall is only 4,1 m tall. On the bright side, it seems that no Stage 2 competitors will be cut or fast-forwarded, and the second Unstable Bridge does "spin" .
