I know the city finals episodes happened a long time ago, but I thought this would be an interesting topic. anyway, do as the title suggests! Rank the City Finals episodes. Quite an interesting bunch, IMO. Two absolutely terrible episodes that I despise, one average episode I found a little boring, and two that I thought were pretty great. Anyway, here's my list.
5. Oklahoma City. F**K this episode, seriously. The comments made about David Campbell were absolutely disgraceful. "How fitting is it that we see a stumble out of the Godfather, the once, the past, and now we see perhaps the future." "And David Campbell's about to get put out by a 54 year old man." Jesus, I hate this episode. I hate it so much. How they say that, especially Matt Isman. I expected more from him. Additionally, the obstacles in this city were so terrible. The ring swing was boring, the log runner was ridiculously hard for a balance obstacle, the tire swing was boring, and a little too hard, the bar hop was just a discount flying bar. bungee road is way too easy. The window hang is SO EASY. I mean come on, all of the ledges are wider then the cliffhanger, and they're on both sides. Why would you use your feet? That makes it harder, by bringing your weight down if you miss a placement. Not to mention it was insanely boring to watch. I find it funny that the hardest obstacle on the course was the log runner. Anyway, rant over.
4. Indianapolis. The editing choices were absolutely bizarre. They spent the first hour showing people falling on the first half of the course, and the next cramming in the people that actually do well. Both Brian Arnold and Adam Arnold were started halfway through their runs. Why? They were more way impressive then Jake Murray doing that dumb flippy thing on the warped wall, why not start him halfway through? Also I felt like the course was a little too easy. They were hyping up the circuit board as this insane physical and mental challenge, when it really just turned out to be a dead hang test.
3. Atlanta. This episode was really boring. I honestly can't think of any other runs besides the 4 finishers. Also the course sucked, (besides the clacker, that was awesome).
2. Los Angeles. This episode was fun. I wish less people were taken out by the wedge, because I love the double helix, but besides that, the episode was pretty great.
1. Philly. I love this episode, maybe because I was there, but it was still awesome. Every run was exciting. The course, while too hard, was great. There were no dumb fast-forwards or cuts (Besides Mike Bernardo and Ryan, wtf was up with that?). Even though no one finished the course, this was really a night of success. Jessie Labrek getting to the step pyramid, Chris Wilchezki qualifying for vegas again. This was just a really fun episode to watch.
Wow, this was a long post.
