I imagine it's going to be a one-off special for when they get clobbered by football. Nothing to see here. 7 months later....

Swap football for NHL/NBA playoffs since both leagues may have conference finals around that time.

After looking at the final image of celebrities going to be in that show, I was hoping for Usher and Ellen to be in that one.....

This is everything I hate about ANW turned up to the f***ing max.
I'm pretty f***ing mad that they completely skimmed over Ashton Eaton who clearly murdered this nerfed course and should have competed on the actual show

I'm pretty f***ing mad that they completely skimmed over Ashton Eaton who clearly murdered this nerfed course and should have competed on the actual show I thought it was fine. It was a charity event. Sure, it would've cool to see Ashton dominate the course, but it seemed that the main point was to watch the non-athletes overcome the obstacles in the name of the children. Glad to have watched the last chick's run rather than Ashton. Plus, they had to stick it under an hour.

I say this as someone who didn't watch Team Ninja Warrior College Edition but... This was the worst episode of anything ninja related I have ever seen in my life... I would rather watch NW:UK... I would rather watch X Warrior... I would rather watch season 1 of the Indonesia mess of a course... s*** I would rather f***ing watch UNAA... ANW1 looked liked Sasuke 27 or 31 in comparison... It was a f***ing disgrace as far as ninja goes... And I mean sure it was a charity event, but you know what else is good for charity? Just donating the money instead of having to pay the all the crews for another day and nerfing the course and hiring all the celebs instead of making a s***ty episode out of it... Literally was the worst f***ing NW related thing I've seen in my life...

I haven't watched the episode since I am not american.. but this seemed to be awful xd. After watching the runs I wondered why are they allowed to skip obstacles randomly and stuff lol and why weren't all celebrities shown on the course and why did the coaches like make so the celebrities could just walk up the warped wall?? But I'm not american so I don't even know what the point of this was so please tell me if I'm wrong or something

But I'm not american so I don't even know what the point of this was so please tell me if I'm wrong or something It was a charity event for Red Nose Day, which was yesterday. Important day about the welfare of poor children. In Celeberty Ninja Warrior, two companies would donate $5000 per obstacle that was beaten by a celeberty. So the celeberties would keep going if they fell in the water sometimes, and would skip particularly harder obstacles sometimes if they didn't believe they could do it. Mainly the Fly Wheels and Battering Ram (new obstacle). They would even tag in their coach (a star of the main show) to do them as well. Not to mention this show had to be got under an hour to include some of the other Red Nose edition shows, so that's why some were skipped. This wasn't meant to be a competition, it was only suppose to be a fun, silly event for a very good cause. At the end of the entire NBC Red Nose event, $33 million was raised. I thought it was very enjoyable.

For me, it was enjoyable still. I was happy to finally see Stephen Amell on the course. The biggest disappointment to me was how they didnt show Ashton Eaton's full run. Those were the two I was really looking forward to watching. Derek Hough surprised me. Yes, he did fall on the flying wheels and redid them, but he did complete all obstacles. While, it was interesting to see less athletic celebrities as well, I feel like those should have been the ones who were digested instead of the ones who did better. Because of the charity element, I didnt mind that the traditional rules were broken with the tags and the assistance with obstacles or doing an obstacle incorrectly like the one woman who I forget her name did the battering ram. I didn't like how some obstacles were flat out skipped though by both the celeb and the ninja warrior. I feel like it was a fun event, but if they do it again, the focus should be on the more athletic. I really hope they upload Ashton Eaton's full run because Im curious how fast he did it. The fact that there were only two who legit beat the qualifier so to speak and one of them not shown in it's entirety is wrong.

It was a lighthearted one-off (probably will return next year) for charity, of course the format was gonna be way different. Could it be played straight, sure, but given all the other spin-offs, I'm fine with a drama less program to not even fill an hour. The only thing I would have liked was Eaton's run in full because guy is one of the most dominant athletes ever, why have any of them on, athletic or not if you're not gonna show them. Or at least have less people if time is the issue. Don't watch the NBA All-Star Weekend because they're also not above bending the rules to ensure they can say they give the money on air. Of course they could have just donated it will little fanfare. But if you can have some fun while doing it, why not. Is the reputation of Ninja Warrior ruined because of this? No, that would be absurd. That's like saying going from "we'll donate $50,000 if you make this half court shot" to "we'll lift up this small child so he can dunk it" ruins the NBA. People wanted to hate this from the jump for some odd reason. The show is big enough now to even create this; that implies longevity in the overall brand. I'd much rather this than worry about whether the show's gonna be around year after year.

Saw this twice because there was a rerun on Sunday. Obviously didn't like the fast-forwards and hope full runs are put up online. Overall, I had a good time watching it. It was great seeing people having fun with the course. There was a nice variety; from serious athletes like Eaton and Swisher (don't know if he did the toilet rolls) or an actor like Amell, to celebs running for personal reasons or victories like Christensen and Suvari, to just super silly like Glaser. For some reason, I found it hilarious when Kacy screams "You're killing it!" then slaps Amell on the back and it looks like he doesn't even notice. I really liked when Amell thanked the crowd before dropping. It was a warm moment to end with. Eaton should definitely become a regular competitor. Just paddling to the next obstacle.
