Without going too far off topic, but do you think if they don't change Stage 3 for Sasuke 33, Geoff could beat it? I know he has more grip endurance than Drew, but the 3 vertical limits with no rest is insane.

We still have another week for Vegas and the thread is already long. I'm sure people will want to discuss that topic.

Take it there! ♥

Also, I can't wait to see him in Sasuke 33!!! Woah did I miss some news? Is this confirmed or is this projection? If the former, I'm stoked. He was invited to Sasuke 32 so it isn't impossible

Thanks mods for moving it! Given that he was invited originally for 32 we HOPE he's invited for 33. So the question is if Geoff would have gone further than Drew in 32 had he been there? Hmm... Dunno. I didn't think anyone would be able to do Vertical Limit right after. Even when I saw it and I saw the testers clear it.. they were fresh guys and they were hurtin' at the end of it. I think Geoff would have gotten further on the Vertical though.. but I didn't think anyone would clear it. Further yes, but not a final stage appearance.

He probably would have at least the 2nd Vertical Limit or at least not have fallen automatically. Also question what are obstacles after the Cliffhanger Vertical Limit combo.

It's the Pipe slider. We knew that before the tournament was aired.

It's gonna be interesting seeing him on the Backstream He grew up surfing in Hawaii, so he would crush the Backstream. I think Geoff has the explosive grip strength to get through just the CH+VL, but grip endurance would be his downfall on the VL.

I don't see anyone completing the UCCH into Vertical Limit Tri into the Pipe Slider for a long time. That requires an insane amount of grip strength and endurance, and I don't think anyone has that. Except for maybe Sean McColl, Brian Arnold, or Isaac Caldiero (that won't happen). To answer the question, no.

I think Geoff has the explosive grip strength to get through just the CH+VL, but grip endurance would be his downfall on the VL. To be fair, good swimmers have STILL fallen prey to the backstream. Prime examples, Kouji and Shingo (Who has surfed before too according to him).

If he has practiced enough those 3cm ledges he'd reach at least the 2nd jump of the UCCH. From there, it's pretty hard to assume anything.

I mean, perhaps he would fall on the vertical limit, but I'm almost entirely sure as long as he didn't mess up on a lache timing or something he would get further than Drew did. Not sure if Geoffnotjeff has seen this thread, but I'm curious if he himself thinks he would pass it? I feel like Geoff has a very good self-awareness of his skill level.

Everyone thinking Geoff would struggle on 3cm ledges when he trains at Alternate Routes with their 2cm cliffhangers ledges lol

I am 90% sure Geoff could clear it, and 90% sure Drew will never clear it.

I am 90% sure Geoff could clear it, and 90% sure Drew will never clear it. Drew's already beaten the Ultra Crazy Cliffhanger, he's very capable of completing the third stage if he toughens up his grip strength.
