This is a really baffling topic for me. It's been 4 tournaments since Yuuji reached the 3rd Stage and it is evident that he has struggled a lot in the RISING era. The Tackle and the Backstream are his worst enemies and his thin stature doesn't really help him. While he's almost 38, he's still very fast on his feet, but he always seems under huge pressure (no matter if he wears the 99 or a number in the 80s). In your opinion, how will Yuuji fare in the future? My take is that he'll reach Stage 2 again with 1-2 Stage 3 appearances, but right now achieving Kanzenseiha or even reaching the Final Stage look impossible in my eyes as a viewer. We never know though. Time will tell.

His succesfull runs are over and now he has same fate what Takeda, Yamamoto, Nagano etc have faced: ageing, what results very poor runs and horrible results overall. Maybe he passes someday S1, but IMO he will never ever pass S2 once again.

Yuuji was better in his Shin-era years. Now the most we can expect from him now is clearing the 1st STAGE and timing out in the 2nd STAGE. He's basically handicapped now.

I'm really hoping he can make stage 3 again but I need to see him clear stage 2 a bit before I can confirm my belief.

Yeah, he messes up a lot, but he's one of four men to have beaten Sasuke and now is only one of two who is still able to do it again. And I agree with Nagano when I say I can actually see him in Stage 4 again, which I can't say the same for a lot of other competitors.

It depends on his training. It's not that hard to hit the legs in the gym and learn how to swim. His upper body / grip strength is just fine I think, but again, that depends on his training. If you don't use it, you lose it. So I think if he can keep these things up, I don't see why he couldn't achieve k-ha again. Sure, he's 38, but like PsychoDelusion mentioned, he's got that pep in his step -- more so than most 20 year olds I know. He still seems very youthful -- much more so than any of the All Stars at 38 imo. Keep in mind he's also single. Without kids, he likely has ample time to keep up his fitness training. Not saying you can't have kids and be fit or anything.. but they do take time and if you don't have them you can focus on your hobbies a lot more than you might otherwise. Anyways, go Yuuji!!!

I still think he's one of the top 3 Japanese prospects to beat Stage 3 IF he can make it there, and for that reason I think he's still one of the top Sasuke competitors. Much better than the opposite - the people like Brent Steffenson who are pretty consistent in the first two stages but you know they don't really have a chance at beating Stage 3.
