Thanks to my friend's son who worked for Nagano last summer, he translated a message into English that Makoto wanted to convey to the International speaking audience.
He's such a sweetheart. ♥

Literally just read his/that post on FB about 30 seconds ago, thanks to Nagano for wanting to say it, and to your son for translating it for him. Obviously a lot of us in SMF will have already read (however badly autotranslated for most of us!) the numerous posts from him ,Shingo, Takeda etc, but really nice to see the extra effort to say thanks, not that it's a suprise given what a hero he is

Not only a legend of SASUKE, but an icon of goodness, strength and humanity. His legacy knows no bounds. The Earth is a richer place with him, whether he competes or not. I truly hope he has a wonderful life out of the spotlight.

I managed to hold in my emotions during the neutered broadcast, but I have to admit I shed a tear here... the greatest ever without a doubt. He will be sorely missed and certainly never surpassed.

No one will forget his legacy but I get his body can't give 100% runs much anymore. He's retiring on a good note.

The things is that I was so engulfed in the drama and tge surprising experiences with the first stage. I had forgotten that Nagano was going to retire. If anything, I was so sad that I tired to forget about it. Then whe. His run came, Inwas snatched out between dimensions. I was somber for the rest of the time. Nagano is my all-time favorite, and seeing him depart is the one thing I did not want to see.

I hated the jarring transition from Nagano standing on top of Stage 1 to the Stage 2 graphic. They did the same thing in 28 and it was just brutal.

That post hit me right in the feels. Especially since Nagano was one of the primary reasons I got into Sasuke. I'm gonna really miss seeing him perform.

It was nice to see him kick a** one more time. Even if he didn't clear he still physically made it to the end. I still kind of wanted to see him in later stages though, but at the same time him NOT failing on the wall was a relief.

Man, gotta love Nagano. What a specimen of humankind. I hope if aliens are peering down on us, they look at him.
Regarding the jolt between his speech right into Stage 2.. It was definitely off-putting, but then again, that's Sasuke. There are tragic fails all the time. It seems TBS has always been quick to "move on" to a stage regardless of what happened in the previous stage. Maybe I've just gotten used to it. Idk.
Don't get me wrong, it was definitely heart-breaking to see Nagano get that far. I literally jumped out of my seat when he cleared the Warped Wall and thought, OMG this could actually happen... And when my heart sank with the timeout, my first thought was "He CANNOT go out like this.. Come on Nagano, ONE MORE TOURNAMENT!!!". But then I thought about it, and I really don't think it mattered where he went out. He could have fell on the timbers (is that what they're called?) or been last man standing, and I wouldn't think of him any higher than what I already do -- he's that high in my light. Complete legend.

A true champion in all respects. It was an honour watching him compete over the years.

When I caught it on a replay for his run, at the moment I saw he timed out....I cried. All I could do for a few minutes was cry and I mean in the "ugly face/super drama" way. For him to make the call and do his actual retirement, I think we all knew it was coming, but it truly wasn't expected in the same regards. He'll always have our eternal thanks for what he has done and I just hope from here on out, he can have fun his own way and live a good life for his family.

Seems TBS did the English subtitles! I haven't checked everything yet (since they just posted this) but for now it is on Facebook. Facebook Link - Engllish Subtitles of Nagano's video.

You have no idea how much this means to me. Nagano you've EASILY been the inspiration for many aspiring ninjas. The journey was worth it, more than that to so many. Thank you. ^_^
