Discuss the Navi (and the eventual 2nd one) here. NOTE: The Navi did show a few full runs, including one person in particular, which likely means they won't be shown in the main broadcast. The person in question was (and my thoughts): Kacy, who timed out at the Lumberjack Climb. As I thought, I knew she had the skill to get through everything, it was a matter of how she handled the clock. She had 40 seconds left by the time she got to the wall, but she fell into the trap of taking too long to get her breath which only gave her one, two realistic tries at the Wall. She used both and by the time she started the Lumberjack Climb it was basically over. Even if she had 10 extra seconds, she's just barely clearing if she had. But I'm happy she got to every obstacle at least.

that Kacy run was amazing. I didn't have faith that she'd make it far and expected her to fail the music box at best, also I'm shocked they showed her full run. Was a really good run and a decent Navi.

Interesting that they added 10 seconds to the timer (125 for women, 115 for men)

I felt so bad for Matsuda, I've seen his training and I was very much expecting great things out of him. I was very shocked to see him fail as early as the music box... Ugh... He needs... ROCK CLIMBING training!

Interesting that rather than different weights for women, they kept them the same and added 10 seconds to the timer (125 for women, 115 for men) However, several other obstacles were modified for the women's runs.

Someone asked on chat what was different but I didn't get a chance to answer since I was bombarded with messages. LOL First obstacle is changed. Steps are broken down and altered. Rolling hill is pushed closer to steps. Mat is extended to make the gap to mat on other side closer. Tie fighter walls are outright replaced and pitch is changed on the obstacle. Music box is pretty much the same? I think the mat on other side is closer but I'm not sure on that. Double Pendulum is pulled closer and trampoline pitch is changed and pushed closer. Distance between the pendulum and the giant swing is closer. Tackle weights are lighter. Wall is shorter. So yeah there's a lot changed for the women.

The regular tackle is 1.8 times heavier for the regular course this time around.

The weight is more this year in general but the women/old people get a lighter version of it.

It takes about 30-45 minutes to do all that. They take that time also to switch out the audience.

To be fair they have always done this in the past which is why Mr. Octopus and other older people were bunched in with the women and children. This has been this way since Day 1.

LOL The lottery people take one bleacher and they are there from 1-50 and then 50-100. The other bleacher is family/support and that is rotated every 10 runs.. roughly.

Unless you go there by car (and less people do than you'd think) you are stuck at the lot. If you are there from the very beginning on Day One, you're going to be there, weather permitting, at least 12 hours. The audience have less room to move around than the competitors or their supporters. Keeping the audience all the way through the taping is not a good idea.

I'm surprised they showed Kacy's run on the Navi and not the main show considering how she did.
