In that first picture, the end of the track looks pretty close to the net, is it?

As I said before I was standing right there and saw him simply slip off the rope. If the rope had broken it would have been obvious due to hanging pieces of broken rope, there would have been a big fuss, and he would have done his run over I assume. I don't believe they allow reruns if you get wet, doesn't look good on camera.

If he fell due to a rope breaking they would have had to make it right somehow, especially after what happened in 21! About the distance from the track to the net. It is the same distance in this picture as it was during the course. It is very hard to see the true distance due to the net being at a 45 degree angle. It's almost even with the end of the rail at the top, but as it goes down it moves further way, which also means that as you jump and start to fall down as you move out towards the net, the net become further and further away! It's evil!!

Nagano seems to take his weird failures like a man, Then again those are stage 3 ones..
Well how exactly far of a distance is it? (I just want to know if the jump I do training is enough XD)

Haha, yes it does! It was really surreal and kinda magical being there!
As for the distance, it's really hard to say. I didn't have my tape measure with me (though I wish I had brought it!!!) And like I said the distance varies depending on how high you are. It's far though, if you're measuring totally flat horizontally I'd guess about 6 feet? Too far to reach and grab without letting go....but MAYBE close enough to swing out and grap with your foot (like doing the net transfer of the chute). MAYBE...I really wish someone had tried it to see if it's at all possible. I considered doing it myself, I think if anyone could it would be me, I have pretty long arms and legs in relation to my height, and I'm pretty good at grabbing things with my toes.......but then I guess you guys already saw that one! ROFL But it's a risky move, like what if I got to the end and then realized it wasn't possible. I'd have to swing my body backwards, slide back to the last ledge and then slide back down and hope I have enough momentum to jump to the net. Would waste a lot of time too!
Though one of the testers actually did something very similar! He slid to the end of the track, tried to reach for the net with his hand, couldn't reach, swung his legs back, slid back up the track to the last ledge, then slid forward and was able to jump and catch the rope!!
Lots of testers were able to clear the obstacle after attempting it several times, and some of them were the same ones that were failing the Half Pipe Attack, so I think it's not that hard if you're able to practice for it somehow.
But yeah, unless you do it perfect....FUUUUUUCK!!!!!!!!

I think the key to the obstacle is speed. The faster you go forward, the easier it is, but then again, that's just me. On a side note, I still am going to believe the rope broke. When I watched the video, not only did it look like the rope snapped in his hand, but I noticed his fingers didn't uncurl. If his fingers uncurled, then I'd believe it, but to me, it seemed that both the rope snapped, AND his hand still seemed clenched tight. On a unrelated note: I want to say I've had dreams 2 nights in a row on me participating in the first stage, and beating it all Then again, it's also a dream.

Lol, yeah... I am kinda a stubborn mule. Get that from my mother. Oh well, not like it truly matters, right? Nagano will whoop it next time anyway!

Even though it didn't, I can really see why people would think it did. When I saw it live my dad thought it had broken for Paul Terek.
