Heh I would have voted out. the funny thing is that Remain was predicted to have won in the papers this morning an embarrassing mistake Remain prayed because they knew they were effed. They were hoping the millennials would come out in droves to offset everyone older than them. It didn't work. The Euro was a mistake that UK helped create. It's time they fix it on their own. It will be messy.. but sure was the EU's entire structure.

Just will look slightly different. To be fair the world is effed right now with a whole bunch of governments doing a whole bunch of stupid things. Hell.. Look at Japan's economy and China's.. and.. you can go down the list. But most millennials only think in their region only and that's why they voted remain because that's all they know. The world is not going to blow up. It always fixes itself over time. UK is resilient and will survive just fine. Hell.. outside of surviving two world worlds while being directly kicked in the teeth and other disastrous events over 2 millennia it still survives strong. Besides when it comes to the Euro.. UK needs to stop underpinning an entire financial market they practically have no say in. UK even knew this was going to happen when they never agreed to drop the pound as their own currency when the EU was formed. Let's say this was destined to happen. Found another video explaining how the crisis happened.

It's too chaotic right now and will be for the next 5 years minimum. I think if the re-negotiations with the ECB go badly they might dial it back and want to do it on their own instead of London making the decisions. Time will tell.

Brexit winning is going to be the catalyst, considering every single constituency in Scotland voted remain.

I'm still not convinced it will happen immediately as some of the chatter has been in the past 24 hours. I see Denmark voting to leave the EU before Scotland re-voting to leave the UK. IMO obviously. It's going to get messy the next year up to about 5 years. Lord knows wtf is going to happen. Ultimately things will resettle. I'm curious who will be the head to renegotiate with the ECB.. I doubt Cameron is going to be the one doing it.

Would not be surprised at all if Scotland tries another independence referendum Nicola Sturgeon just announced they're gonna try to get another referendum going She mentioned only if Article 50 is triggered. I expect Denmark to vote before that honestly. That will cause a bigger ripple effect if 2 are going at once. That may actually change Scotland's mind if 2 are leaving and others may decide to reevaluate the EU status to begin with.

Let's keep the Thread of Random Mysteryness to dank memes and Bray Wyatt promos and move all the actual news and discussion on the "Brexit" here.
Recap of the events so far: United Kingdom voted 53%-47% to exit the European Union. The British pound has fallen to its lowest value in over 30 years. Several markets around the world are also experiencing particularly low values. (I'm not an economy guy) Prime minister David Cameron has resigned. Scotland (which voted 62% in favor of Remain) has announced they will explore an independence referendum. Northern Ireland (which also voted in favor of Remain) looks poised to do the same.
(Mods, feel free to move Brexit discussion to this thread)

Thanks I'll ask the mods to move the other comments from there here. It should always have been on the General thread.

On my phone so hopefully it looks alright. Unfortunately they always stack the posts weird so the preceding posts end up appearing last (unless I've always done it wrong).
I...don't see this as a good thing. It feels more based around the trend of xenophobic isolationism than wanting to fix a broken system. Hell, the pound value plummeted as soon as it happened. I called Cameron's resignation; when your PM is asking for remain and you vote leave, you've effectively given him a vote of no confidence.
Gonna be interesting how John Oliver tackles this because he was all about 'yes, the EU sucks...but it'll suck even more for everyone if you leave it.
Not to mention UK is the second largest economy in Europe behind Germany, and is a nuclear power with a permanent seat on the UN Security Council. And when you bring in free trade in all of this, Britain still has to play ball with the EU's trade rules if it wants to trade with them which it kinda needs to?

(Mods, feel free to move Brexit discussion to this thread) Kek, I lived in Northern Ireland for 3 years, this referendum doesn't change anything about independence. It's always been the same: 1) The native Irish living there want to be part of Ireland. 2) The Scottish farmers who came in the 1600's want to worship England and kiss their a$$ endlessly. The Brexit may affect 1) yes, but those people have already wanted to leave since 1910. 2) will NEVER remotely ever explore leaving. They adore England too much.

Thanks TCM! I see this as a good thing honestly. The EU system is flawed from the start and when it happened my jaw dropped. I'm not at all surprised to see the freefall and I doubt UK is the only one to leave. If Denmark leaves the whole system is going down. Personally I would be happy for the EU federal system dissolve and let everyone figure out how to figure stuff out on their own. Everyone else in the world has been doing that for millennia. Each country is sovereign and should be able to stand on their own instead of a small few making country decisions unilaterally. Hell this was predicted well in advance and even the UK keeping their Pound at the formation of the EU was a signal. At least they HAVE a currency. I expect it to fall for a while then resettle... then everyone and their mother want to be "in" on the new trade deals. In the long run it will make the UK stronger and not only a viable trade ally but a formidable force in reshaping the EU as a whole.
