No, sometime before Oct 1. Tomorrow's the last day for submissions.
It would be sort of funny if ATS/NBC decided none were good enough and didn't pick any of them. It would suck though

We certainly must have different senses of humor No you're right, it would be funny, but bad at the same time! Good luck everyone!

Something I didn't really think about until like the last couple of days for a obstacle:
Pogo Steps
Each circle step is of different height and placed pretty randomly throughout the waterpit (to make different routes to attempt it). But, each step is supported by a post with a giant spring on it (one where it doesn't make the step basically wobble off to the side but instead more up and down), making each circle step bounce and move as you step on it. Kinda like the dancing stones, but geared more to be like a combo of the snake run and dancing stones (more so that middle stone with the spring on it). No pic I make will do this idea justice lol.

Does anybody speak legal? I can't figure out if they are choosing 5 designs to be put on next year or just one. Who wins the prize? 5 people or just 1? Here are the official rules. someone make sense of this please! Thoughts?
SELECTION OF WINNER: On or about October 1, 2016, one (1) or more qualified judges selected by Sponsors ("Judges") will review all eligible Entries received during the Contest Period and select five (5) potential winners ("Winners", each a "Winner") based on the following judging criteria ("Judging Criteria"): Originality (33%), Creativity (33%) and Practicality of Design (34%). The selection and review process may occur on a rolling basis as Entries are received. In the event of a tie, the Judges will break the tie by selecting the tied entrant who received the highest points from the Judges for Originality. In the event a tie still remains, Judges will select Winner in their sole discretion. Sponsors reserve the right to extend the Contest Entry Period if the Contest does not receive a sufficient number of eligible and qualified Entries, as determined by Sponsors in their sole discretion. Winner will be required as a condition of continued eligibility to sign an Affidavit of Eligibility, Waiver of Liability, and, except where prohibited, Publicity Release (collectively, "Contest Documents") within three (3) days of such notification. Noncompliance within this time period will result in disqualification. If the potential Winner cannot be reached or if it is found ineligible, if it cannot or does not comply with the foregoing requirements and these Official Rules, if its prize or prize notification is returned as undeliverable, or if it does not satisfactorily execute all of the Contest Documents, potential Winner will be disqualified and Sponsors will award the Prize (defined below) to the runner-up.
PRIZE: There will be one (1) prize awarded ("Prize") awarded to Winner. Prize will consist of the chance to have entrant’s design incorporated into an American Ninja Warrior obstacle and a trip to an American Ninja Warrior set ("Trip"). Trip will include: roundtrip airfare from a major commercial airport nearest Winner’s residence to a major commercial airport near an American Ninja Warrior set, as determined by Sponsors in their sole discretion, for Winner and three (3) guests ("Guests", each a Guest"), a visit and tour of the set ("Set Visit"), and two (2) night hotel accommodations in a single room/quad occupancy.

Looking at that it looks like the judges will pick the top 5 obstacles and only one of those wins the prize, I.E. only 1 person (family?) gets the trip to attend and their obstacle officially recognized as theirs. And I think they also have backups in the case there's some sort of unable to contact/disagreement with the original winner

Who won? Anyone on here?? I dont think they are going to show winner on the contest website because then the new obstacle could be practiced and that defeats the purpose of a "new" obstacle

I think it's safe to say by now that you guys won't be seeing the Equilibrium Obfuscator on American Ninja Warrior this upcoming season. :-( Oh well, congratulations to the winners.

NBC isn't even revealing the winners of the contest yet. Someone from the staff better reveal it now before I consider this contest a waste of time.

Definitely will be disappointing if they don't use one/don't mention it on the show. I wouldn't be surprised though.

I doubt they will announce it until after people ran it. Giving anyone an advantage knowing WHAT the obstacle is before regionals hasn't been something NBC has done in the past. Part of the mystery of regionals is figuring out what obstacles they are using. I'm sure once that is set up they will make some sort of announcement. The contest was pretty popular and it would be odd if they didn't mention it given it's visibility.

Yeah, you're right that they probably will. I was thinking they could at least give the name, but then contestants would know who made what obstacle! It did say they'd contact winners on October 1st though so maybe they have, just no one on here?
Hopefully they use something different to usual (meaning I'm wishing against myself now lol).

I know this is an old thread, and that I haven't been keeping up with ANW much lately, but was there ever any official announcement about the winner(s) of this contest?

I think the wingnuts from daytona (I think that's where they were put) were the official winner but they did use some other ideas.

The Wingnuts were a finalist but did not win. I believe 6 designs were used. I may or may not have also been a finalist...
