Actually last year the regular season was Wednesday-Thursday with USA vs the World on Friday. This year is the exact same. Both All-Star specials are there too, but I think there's a day of rest in between. I think it's Wednesday-Saturday. Sunday off. Then Monday is All-Star Individual. I'm going for Wed-Fri for sure though.

Geez so the event starts tomorrow night! I'm sure it's going crazy with everyone getting into town.

And I'm really curious without a certain person who will be in Team Japan this year. I'm sure you know (and can't say of course).

ARE YOU f***ing KIDDING ME!? In the past, I have disagreed with those that stated the stages of ANW were too tough/unfair, but this one seems ridiculous. Stage 1 is fine, but then they just HAVE to bring back some of the most BS obstacles in history like the hugely unfair and luck based Hourglass Drop/Walking Bar. Ridiculous. And ON TOP of the difficulty that will already be added due to the new stuff, they go and add a layer of unfairness too.

This was done for one reason only... the difficulty increase overall is justified, but the unfairness is not. But hey, NBC/POM don't have to pay out any more prize money anytime soon right??? Imagine surviving the new stage 3 obstacles, the new Cliffhanger, the Body Prop and Hang Climb, only to be taken out by the Walking Bar because NBC says so. Take out those two obstacles above and it would be fine IMO, but this is such BS if the course is what the OP says it is.

And I hope the competitors and community can still put in respectable runs regardless.

WELP. No one's winning this year lol What in the name of God is the "Piston Road Kai"? Don't think that's the official name. It's the piston road obstacle but the surface that you step on wiggles as if it has a ball underneath it.

Overall, Stage 1 doesn't look that much tougher if at all than last year. The only thing I'm waiting to see is the time limit (cause the increase last year was the main reason we saw 38 finishers).
Stage 2: The hourglass bridges are fairer than you think. Just so we're clear, there's NO trampoline. It's pretty much the unstable bridge but in odd shapes with a central pole through the center. It makes it tougher to keep it straight, but it's definitely no Hourglass Drop.
However, from seeing the Wedge in LA, I'm not sure if it's an unfair obstacle or not. I just know it was hard as f*** for the competitors. So, we'll see.
The only obstacle in stage 3 that's kind of a crapshoot is the walking bar. Overall, I like the changes inStage 3, especially the triangular shaped floating boards, which I have thought was a good idea for awhile since it takes away the ability to support your weight solely by your feet. You can still use your feet, but your weight is focused more on your hands.

Of note: The old Sasuke style 18-25/ANW4 holes Log Grip is back instead of the handles version

Interesting placement of that bottom hold on the cliffhanger. Are the competitors supposed to use their feet on it? It looks like a huge gap to the next ledge, so maybe they're supposed to like jump from their feet? Not sure.
