s***, really?? Any early exits? I'd suppose any big name early exits (Geoff or Joe or Strat or Rahn) would get an assured wildcard since they made it to city finals.
Was only there until 12:30 the second night and because of the rain the night before it was still qualifying... there were 13 clears when I left...I'm guessing right around 20-25 made it through overall.

So after city qualifiers, the wheel was adjusted and the plexi panes were cut in half to allow for better/continuous movement with your arms. That being said, even the modified version still had 8 fails due to pumping out. For the most part, those that cleared the 1st night made it to Vegas with 1 exception. Results:
30. Random Guy(failed paddleboard) 29. Rachel Goldstein(failed wall drop) 28. Miles Davis(failed wall drop) 27. Lori Adams(failed wall drop) 26. Tyler Cravens(cleared 1st night, failed wall drop) 25. Alyssa Beird(failed wheel) 24. Michelle Warnky(failed wheel) 23. Tim Bream(failed wheel) 22. Greg Fleming(walk on,failed wheel) 21. Fabio Figueiredo(failed wheel) 20. Mike Soria(failed wheel) 19. Alex Dell'aquila(failed wheel) 18. Chris Digangi(walk-on, failed wheel) 17. Eric Torres(failed warped wall) 16. Yancey Quezada(failed salmon ladder) 15. Carl Fauntuzzo(failed shelf grab) 14. Rich Shoemaker(failed shelf grab) 13. Brandon Pannell(walkon, failed shelf grab) 12. Nick Kostrecki(failed shelf grab) 11. Anthony Defranco(failed shelf grab) 10. JESSE LABRECK(failed step drop) 9. Ryan Stratis(failed step drop) 8. Geoff Britten(failed step drop) 7. Michael Torres(failed step drop) 6. Naj Richardson(failed step drop) 5. Mike Bernardo(failed step drop) 4. Jamie Rahn(failed step drop) 3. Jon Alexis(failed step drop) 2. Joe Moravsky(failed invisible ladder) 1. Chris Wilczewski(failed invisible ladder)
9th obstacle did all the damage on the back half. Super tricky since there's only 4" of play with the bar on each side an you have to navigate 20' of 4 descending and 4 ascending jumps with different height depths. Chris W. did it flying bar style, totally dynamic and took out a couple moves by doing so. In Matt Iseman voice, "History has been made!" Quite amazing how hard this region's course was...I mean come on now these are some of the strongest competitors and not one f**king person could clear? Amazing.

2 very strong testers did full course runs around 8pm(Jonothan Stevens & Dan Galizcynski) and both failed the invisible ladder.

Obs. 9 fails were mostly due to accuracy/technique( arms not locked off, core not tight). Based on Stratis's post interview, he fell due to exhaustion, as did Jesse.

So what do you guys think so far of the courses this year? Do you think the difficulty so far has been bolstered and that this is a "true renewal" in terms of the new course? I'm gonna say that from what I've seen, I like the amount of new/modified obstacles they have, but I didn't look enough into specific results to tell if there is any increase in difficulty or if it is having an effect on clears... could someone clear this up for me without mentioning specific people?

Well as far as I know, this year is definitely harder. But there are some obstacles that I'm not exactly sure if they are crapshoot a or not. Obstacle 8 in LA is like that. Also Obstacle 8 in Indy seems like a crapshoot since it is similar to the hourglass drop in Venice. Overall, I don't have (or can't give) clear numbers, but I'm not sure how much harder it truly is. There definitely is a step up in terms of WTF obstacles though

Did Chris and Joe almost finish the invisible ladder? And regarding the flying bar style, you're saying he like didn't even touch the lowest portion, skipping to the next step up?

Those results are how they finished based on time and in order with a couple exceptions with the early wipeouts.
And Chris jumped over the very bottom step, never touched it.

{Spoiler} Chris got really close, like put your feet up close. Joe, not so much. Halfway through he let go of one ring in an act of desperation and it didn't work out.

Yeah, he let go of a ring last year, but he was close enough to pull himself up. I'm assuming he was going to try to kip up the rest with both hands on the ring.

I guess like in SASUKE 27? Also I hope Morgan Hamm's there too, he made Stage 3 once (And I think is the only guy to ever fail the Curtain Cling) Nope. Shingo failed it in SASUKE 14,and Masaki Kobayashi failed in SASUKE 13.

I'm pleased that the promo said "He was the first American to conquer Ninja Warrior". Geoff's veins are like lightning! His shirt makes me chuckle... before a teardrop runs down my face. Attachment DeletedThey used half a second of footage from Sasuke for Paul Hamm! Attachment Deleted

^tbf they actually do own that footage, but I agree. Shocked to see them use it. It'll be interesting to see how much they talk about him and Sasuke next week

They better give Paul Hamm some fluff piece time even if it's only 10 seconds Of SASUKE footage I'll be happy.

Just saw geoffnotjeff's 24/B4. The best part: they included "Get In the Van!" Sadly it did seem like they were being really nosy with filming you guys. But that's ANW...
