It does seem like the northeast gets a lot of the crapshooty obstacles, ever since they started the region concept. ANW4 Miami had the huge trampoline jump up to the jumping bars. 5 Baltimore had the ropes and ring thing, I think they called it the Circle Cross. 7 Pittsburgh had the Snake Crossing. And now this. There's been a few others in Venice (tramp-to-nunchucks thingy, jump-and-pray unstable bridge thingy) and Vegas (Silk Slider with super slippery landing pad), but it's been most consistent in the northeast. I still think it's the strongest region and I think this is the reason we haven't seen a larger northeast showing in Vegas.

Mike Meyers got a straightup bounce on the tramp and could not quite reach the log on the wall drop. [Spoiler/] Do you have to grab both logs or just one? They seem like they are right next to each other so I feel it would be hard to get around just one log.

Just one log.

I think they put in the 2nd log since in testing a lot of people were (accidentally or intentionally) jumping to the platform and tapping the log long enough to count as a hold so they were covering up a trick that's not supposed to be legal, like people were asking the ATS guys "Wasn't that a DQ?" and they were saying things like "He touched it so we can't call him on it" It does seem like the northeast gets a lot of the crapshooty obstacles, ever since they started the region concept. You forgot the northeast was sent to St Louis for ANW6 and we got the + shaped Bridge of Blades

You forgot the northeast was sent to St Louis for ANW6 and we got the + shaped Bridge of Blades I know they only had a certain amount of room for the obstacle, but I would have redesigned it and had one longer log and you'd have to climb up to get high enough to dismount. Because the second log looks awkward as hell from the pics.

Hahahahahaha I strongly disagree. Extremely hard course and unless things change from quals I wouldn't be surprised if there are 0 finishers. lol ok I thought Roulette Cylinder thingy and immediatly thought one from Vegas, which isn't too hard, and then the 9th sounded like the pipe slider drop from ANW + the Bar Glider at the end of Sasuke 27. In fact, it's a lot more brutal than that, but I would still be shocked if you didn't finish.

Where would you guys put the city finals courses in terms of difficulty if they were in Vegas? I would say last season they were like a Stage 2.5 (harder than Stage 2, easier than 3), but with Geoff's comment it seems like this year they are on par with Stage 3.

Probably a bit easier than Stage 2, but Philly seems to be the harder one. There are a lot of variables with the course. I'd say it's a bit harder than Vegas' Stage 2 as of late.

I think Indianapolis had the easiest qualifier and one of the easier finals, I'd say easiest if it weren't for the obstacle 9 peg thingy.

Damn... Was this because of the later obstacles or was the Wall Drop still the ninja killer?

s***, really?? Any early exits? I'd suppose any big name early exits (Geoff or Joe or Strat or Rahn) would get an assured wildcard since they made it to city finals.

The region was strong, you need to give credit to the hardest qualifier ever.

So after city qualifiers, the wheel was adjusted and the plexi panes were cut in half to allow for better/continuous movement with your arms. That being said, even the modified version still had 8 fails due to pumping out. For the most part, those that cleared the 1st night made it to Vegas with 1 exception. Results:
30. Random Guy(failed paddleboard) 29. Rachel Goldstein(failed wall drop) 28. Miles Davis(failed wall drop) 27. Lori Adams(failed wall drop) 26. Tyler Cravens(cleared 1st night, failed wall drop) 25. Alyssa Beird(failed wheel) 24. Michelle Warnky(failed wheel) 23. Tim Bream(failed wheel) 22. Greg Fleming(walk on,failed wheel) 21. Fabio Figueiredo(failed wheel) 20. Mike Soria(failed wheel) 19. Alex Dell'aquila(failed wheel) 18. Chris Digangi(walk-on, failed wheel) 17. Eric Torres(failed warped wall) 16. Yancey Quezada(failed salmon ladder) 15. Carl Fauntuzzo(failed shelf grab) 14. Rich Shoemaker(failed shelf grab) 13. Brandon Pannell(walkon, failed shelf grab) 12. Nick Kostrecki(failed shelf grab) 11. Anthony Defranco(failed shelf grab) 10. JESSE LABRECK(failed step drop) 9. Ryan Stratis(failed step drop) 8. Geoff Britten(failed step drop) 7. Michael Torres(failed step drop) 6. Naj Richardson(failed step drop) 5. Mike Bernardo(failed step drop) 4. Jamie Rahn(failed step drop) 3. Jon Alexis(failed step drop) 2. Joe Moravsky(failed invisible ladder) 1. Chris Wilczewski(failed invisible ladder)
9th obstacle did all the damage on the back half. Super tricky since there's only 4" of play with the bar on each side an you have to navigate 20' of 4 descending and 4 ascending jumps with different height depths. Chris W. did it flying bar style, totally dynamic and took out a couple moves by doing so.
