KAMMY!!! He is a football commentator but is really funny so should be good (think Craig Charles esque. Ben Shepherd will be solid (he's a newsreader) and the women is an ex singer who hopefully they will fire as she is annoying as hell (WE WANT BOX LADY!!!) 250 competitors ohhhh, should be interesting. Anyway I'm hyped! Oh also Hunter had he tryout which he said went ok, mainly stuff like hanging onto a Bar/rope for some time, chin ups etc.

Still cracks me up that the first matter of importance are the announcers. As for 250 competitors, since it's not the 4 stage format they can do what they do in the USA and zerg the first stage.

Announcers make a huge difference, if there is a good announcer you are much more involved in the action, Craig Charles on Takeshis Castle was awesome because he was a great announcer and really added to the show, when Dick and Dom came on they were a bit crap and it was noticeably not as good. In the UK commentary really can make or break a show in terms of how successful it gets across with the audience at home and ratings wise, but with funny Chris Kamara and serious Ben Shepherd it should be good, just don't let Rochelle anywhere near the commentary booth as she is annoying as hell! Make her do interviews or something instead and let the competitors suffer! Edit: Some footage of "Kammy"

In fact it's important you guys are worried about it because this is a TV show and like all TV shows if the presentation sucks then ratings will follow and the show gets cancelled. So trust me, I agree with you guys it's just funny because given that all of the other Ninja Warrior spin offs (US included), it was all about "omg I better be called because I'm all that and a bag of chips" while in the UK it's "omg don't suck or we won't see this again"! LOL LMFAO I REMEMBER THIS!!!!!!!!! This was actually in our news when it happened. LOL

Hopefully it should have a really good chance of succeeding, it should be the next show in line after ant and decs Saturday night takeaway than runs for roughly 8/10 weeks on Saturday nights so we could potentially be looking at an early may start date, which could work considering the trials end in early March. Also the average viewers for an ITV show on a Saturday night are some of the bigg est in the UK, usually 8 million + (like a 19% total share) so if it takes off it could be huge

Chris Kamara makes me laugh every time, if he weren't chosen I'd choose Jonathan Pearce (football commentator who also did Hole in the Wall and Robot Wars) he's a very good commentator when it comes to things like this.

Yep. That's why I told the mods to move this to ANW general because NBC was the one they bought the license from. They bought the course from NBC's build team and are using that format exclusively. It wasn't tied to Sasuke from the beginning.

Dom, you had your audition yet? I didn't audition, I'm not strong enough to do all this But Hunter has already had his (In London) Am I allowed to say the things they had to do on the audition or would that be a breach of something?

Should point out they revealed the filming will be taking place somewhere in Manchester at end of March/Start of April at the end of my audition. They also said it would be done with some kind of heat type thing, what this means i'm not entirely certain yet * Also if I shouldn't be revealing this I will remove it oh and KAMMYYYYY

That's weird. The press release re announcers named TBS and Sasuke, with no mention of ANW or NBC. Last paragraph, from memory.

Tickets have been released to allow you to watch the show and it's free! Me and Hunter (if he doesn't qualify) should be going to the Finals, so Tuesday 31st March and we will be going in both time slots (12pm and 6pm) lostintv.com/tv-show?id=621

Chris Kamara is a legend. That's the best Sky Sports moment ever.

Well, I dawdled for ages, but just finished my application, just before tonights midnight deadline. Not expecting to get anywhere, but I've got the main week of the tapings off work (last of this years holidays to use up), so definately planning on going to watch the show if I'm not busy failing the first obstacle myself! Tickets have been released to allow you to watch the show and it's free! Me and Hunter (if he doesn't qualify) should be going to the Finals, so Tuesday 31st March and we will be going in both time slots (12pm and 6pm) lostintv.com/tv-show?id=621It lists Wednesday 1st April as the last day on the website.. Friday 27th March - shows at 6:00pm Monday 30th March - shows at 12:00pm, 6:00pm Tuesday 31st March - shows at 12:00pm, 6:00pm Wednesday 1st April - shows at 12:00pm, 6:00pm I'm tempted to go for the midday shows on Mon and Tues purely for avoiding traffic in Manchester, but would really want to be there for both on the Wednesday , especially if the Wed 18:00 is the final . gtdom.. does it let you re-apply for other days after your first set of tickets, or is it restricted to one day/show per person? They've said on facebook they're looking for audience so I would think it's OK.

I'd love to hear a report from this even if there are no spoilers. I'm just excited for you guys getting SOMETHING there in the UK.

I'm sure between those of us going (wether competing or spectating) we can cobble something together for you arsenette I tend to forget to take note of stuff when I'm engrossed in something (if that makes sense!), so afterwards I might be "oh, err, who was it that fell of the ...." , but I will try It's weird, when they first announced the European Ninja Warrior idea, it seemed like UK might never get it, especially when the initial plan was scaled back, now all of a sudden it's only 3 weeks away. Seems to have moved very quickly from no news, to "hey were doing it" at xmas, to "it's now.."
