I've been thinking about this for a while now and given my experience doing this for 8 years and the recent turn of events over the past 2-3 months, I decided I'm going into semi retirement. What I mean is that Sasuke 32 will be the last full season I'll cover on Rambling Rican. My last Spoilerific Review. My last tournament where I post news and happenings of the world of Sasuke. I'm going to shift focus on the book I've been trying to write but have been distracted by other things. I'll still be here but in a limited capacity starting from around August or so (whenever I'm done the Sasuke 32 blog). I'll finish all current projects but I'm not picking up new ones. The negative season has finally taken a toll and I'm no longer interested in keeping up with the spin offs and political issues going on in the world of Sasuke with NBC growing in strength and reach. I'm also tired of the constant hate mail that has besieged me over the past couple of months. I'm going back to basics and going back to just being a fan of the show. Somewhere in the past couple of years I forgot why I love this show. Writing the book will be a cathartic experience and important for me since it gives me the opportunity to thank all of those who have supported me unconditionally throughout all the years I've been doing this. This book is for them.
Ultimately I'll see how things go. No one will really notice much of a difference until around the end of summer. I'll make a decision on what happens after that. In terms of SMF, I'm not going anywhere. I have to deprogram myself to responding to all information requests. However, ultimately that is my goal. To not just be a talking head or a vomiting encyclopedia of politics. In terms of news. I'm done now officially with all spin offs (which includes all regardless if it's TBS, ATS, Eccholine, NBC, etc.) since ultimately this involvement has caused the most chaos in my life. Sasuke 32 I'll complete the full season as planned. Final Stage Podcast will continue as long as William and I want to continue though later in the summer it might change in format. That part hasn't even been discussed and Lord knows how I'm going to feel about that later. I really enjoy talking to William and people have been positive about the podcast in general. If anything it may give us the opportunity to talk more about the show sans politics. It may be a boon to the show. We'll see. Wiliam and I haven't had a conversation about it honestly.
Ultimately while I'm not going anywhere I wanted to thank you guys for supporting me. I may not agree with all of you but you are still a part of this community and as a result a part of my life. I figured since I'm usually one of the first people to post news, etc it was important to let people know of that change. I want to encourage all of you to seek out that information on your own. Thanks to those who stepped up on the ANW side when I stepped back from that duty last year. I'm happy that continues so people can engage with the fandom in an organized manner that hopefully prevents those who are leery of spoilers to have a place to still be a fan of the show without knowing every detail. I hope the same happens next year for Sasuke.

Wow...
I totally see where you're coming from, Arsenette. It's a lot to cover compared to when you started out (just SASUKE 20 and the Ninja Challenge), but over the last 8 years you've kept all of us informed on what's going on. You linked us to Inui. And you gave us interviews and introduced us to Tatsuya Tada. When I first started reading your blog I was only a kid who knew the G4 version. You introduced me to these forums, and now I feel like a huge part of the American community. All thanks to you.
Thanks Arsenette, and good luck with the book!

It always amazes me how many people found the community through my blog. I'll continue to have that up and will update it more with book news later. I don't intend on deleting it so it will always be there for those who want to reminisce. You are right that now that the show is more open on social media it will be a bit easier to get public news in a timely manner. For that I'm really thankful so the void won't be as stark on the Sasuke side. I appreciate the kind words. They mean a lot to me.

I also started out following your blog, then ended up here. I've always enjoyed reading your blog posts. I still laugh about some of the early "Babelfish Disasters." My favorite is still "supernova birth humiliation!" Good luck!

I will be sorry to see you go, especially as upcoming changes to my life will probably affect how much I can connect on this board myself. You and I may not have always agreed, but you always made your position clear and justified why you felt that way, and you can't ask for much more than that. You will be missed.

Trying to translate Japanese is bad enough.. but those play on words and in-jokes in all the titles made those epic! ♥ I will be sorry to see you go, especially as upcoming changes to my life will probably affect how much I can connect on this board myself. Don't worry, they are! Once I graduate (which will be in a couple of weeks), I'm going to move up north, try to get a job up there, and work towards my doctorate as a pharmacist. Rather busy work, as you can imagine.

Hopefully I'll stay out of trouble and not get involved in fights.. LOL I'm just retiring from politics and tournament blogs which as you might imagine.. was/is a huge part of my life of late. Hell. last year the Sasuke 31 blog alone took a month to finish..

I'm sorry to see the blog going quiet after 32 is done and over with but the memories will never leave. I hope your book is a success and I hope to be the first to get a copy because SASUKE means so much to me. You know my reasons. I can't remember how I found the blog in the first place, I think it was through your blog but it lead me to SASUKEpedia and then to here so, indirect but you still helped. I hope we can remain friends.

I'll be honest, I'm not into Sasuke as much as I used to be, but I love reading your blog and being a part of this place in general when the tournaments do happen. Either way, best of luck moving forward.

I'll be honest, I'm not into Sasuke as much as I used to be. I agree. I think the tournaments are getting more worse every time with the odd good tournament here and there, and the ratings have shown that it's true. I don't know how much longer I can keep following SASUKE now that I've got other stuff on my mind. (Golf, Anime etc.)

Yeah, I came here because of your blog as well. Your book is gonna be awesome! I remember you were trying to get interviews for the book at 31. I understand why you are gonna stay out of the politics. NBC has a death grip on the American invites but I've slowly been getting less pessimistic about it. For example I enjoyed the NNL finals (and competing in the qualifiers) so much, and obviously I still love Sasuke. It's a dream that's a little bit farther away than the NNL but if there is a will, there is a way. I sort of went on a tangent there but my point is I understand your decision. We're all on here because we love Sasuke.

Although I'd never consider myself one of the most dedicated Sasuke Maniacs, I've been a part of these forums for over 7 years and I'm still in the top 20 when it comes to post count. I mention all of that to make the point that my dedication and love for Sasuke can't even touch that shown by Arsenette over the past 7 years. Arsenette, the effort and passion and love you put in to growing, covering, and honoring all things Sasuke will always be remembered by the many fans you personally brought into the Sasuke community and the fans who grew to love Sasuke even more by your efforts.
I respect that you've recognized that the negativity and complications have taken a toll and that you've decided to limit the number of projects and initiatives you take on. I hope that this will allow you to enjoy Sasuke as you once did - as a super fan who fell in love with the absurdly difficult competition, the absurdly dedicated competitors, and the absurdly absurd Sasuke Maniac fan base.
Thank you!

When first discovering Sasuke, and wanting to know more. I did a bit of research on it. Finding your blog I believe was one of the very first things I found on the subject. Not being able to watch the show on G4 anymore, I was still able to figure out what was going on through your blog. Eventually finding out about this forum, and joining the community. So, I thank you tremendously for all the hard work you have put into the blog, and really strengthening the community as a whole. You definitely deserve to relax. I guess I have to stop being so lazy now, and find my own news.

Thanks everyone! ♥ Yeah.. it's been rough the past couple of months specifically but it's nice to get positive feedback from those who have known me the longest. Some who haven't posted in a while! LOL I do appreciate it. I made a joke a couple years ago (when Rising was about to start) that with the retirement of Nagano that I might go as well. Then we know what happened there. This time I decided on my own and what happened? Nagano is possibly retiring too. LOL That's just hilarious timing. I think it sounds better to retire with Nagano. Besides.. everyone knows it was an All-Star blog. Giggles. I've gotten a lot of messages like yours Lennon. You guys will be fine. Most of the stuff now is on social media and that makes it easier on everyone. The rest of the stuff.. well.. you have to do some digging. Have fun! ♥

I remember years ago back when this forum was just starting out (I think the G4 forums were still a thing) and I had said something relatively intelligent about the show (actually showing semblance of analysis) and you gave it praise and teen me quietly went and fanboy'd a little bit. Considering all your years of coverage which rivals (if not succeeds) some people whose actual job is to blog about television got you two visits to the actual show, you absolutely deserve being able to slow down. So another thank you from someone who infinitely benefitted from your coverage as a fan and someone who tries to analyze the show.

What's going on down there? I heard there was an injury (or something like that) and taping was delayed. What happened?
